Possible Bassmaster Magazine Fraud Alert

Yesterday I got a phone call from "Bassmaster Headquarters" advising me that I was going to get a special renewal price as my subscription is about up. I did not think much of it until today when I got a second call from the same person telling me that a representative will be calling me to take my order to renew for $19.99 a year for up to 3 years. While talking to the person on the other end and keeping him busy I checked my current magazine and seen where it does not expire until 03/09. When he started to ask for what I believe was my credit card number I told him that my magazine stated that my renewal was not due until 03/09 and that is when I got a dial tone. Just thought I would pass this on.

Thanks for the heads up. I've heard of people also calling pretending they are with your department store credit cards i.e. Macy's or JC Penneys saying you need to pay your bill and they want your credit card #.

I don't answer questions when someone calls me. If they say it is a survey/questionaire, I tell them to mail it to me and I may return it. The scam that never stops is when you get a call from a "police" organization wanting donations. Even the police will tell you to hang up on those calls.

i got that SAME CALL about renewing my subscription with bassmaster for a special price. yeah that was a big NO lol.
