    Re: Dale Hollow Last Weekend

Sorry to chime in so late, but maybe this can be helpful for your next trip!? I have fished DH for almost 20 yrs now and have a home here. My experience with fishing in June is night fishing, night fishing, night fishing! While I have fished it during the day @ this time of year, success has not been very good. An occasional brown, but nothing consistent. My best success is fishing @ night with short arm, single blade, spinnerbaits, tipped with a josh pork rind, slow rolled over main lake points. If you can find grass, you will find success there as well and can also pick up some large mouths. Colors I have the most success with are black with any combination a few stands in red, chartruese, or purple. I coordinate with the pork rind. There are times that a chartruese, brown or white one is the trick. I also have success with a hair jig in brown, black, watermelon/olive, purple, chartruese or white. But predominatly the brown, black and watermelon. I trim the hair to about a 1/4 inch from the hook and dress it with a josh rind. I also have found, for me, that I have better hook up rate when I also trim some of the rind off on the underside of the rind @ the preset opening for the hook. Again, I fish the jig typically on the main lake points. Hope this is helpful!

On the pork rind, what # do you use, I always used the 101. Do you use the 11 or something different altogether. What size jig head?

Thanks for the kind comments guys! I appreciate it! And, you are exactly right, this is a great site with dedicated fisherman, with a wealth of helpful info! Bragger, I prefer the #11 and use them on both the spinners and jigs. As far as size, I will use a 3/8 oz jig and spinner predominatley. However, if I'm fishing a point that has a deeper drop, I will use a 1/2 oz jig or spinner.

I'm a regular at the DH and if you put 15 a day in the boat....that's solid. We usually do more than one day trips though so this would make more sense. Jim Sharley ~ your post is dead on my friend.
