    Kentucky River

Has anyone had any luck on the river? I was thinking of putting in at clay's ferry or the next pool down the silver creek and paint lick creek run in. Just wondering if it's worth fishing. I need to start trying to fish closer to home with the expensive gas prices.

Not sure about that pool, but the Frankfort pool has been really good the last 4-5 weeks. Probably starting to slow down now a bit. Here's what my river buddies say:

--any jig color as long as it's blue
--any buzzbait color as long as it's chartruese
--any worm color as long as it's red shad

White or bubblegum trick worms are also catching some fish.

I live in Richmond so those 2 are closest to my house but I haven't been on the river in several years. There are 2 nice creeks in those areas to go up in though.

I have been having one of my best years on the river and have been concentrating around Cummins Ferry Road boat dock. Plenty of bass, a 3.5 # smallmouth and many good size Lmouth on small crankbaits and throw in some nice whites and big drum to boot. Things are slowing down a bit as the water climbs, but the topwater bite should commence early and late. Like the other post said-buzzbait any color as long as it is chartreuse!!!
