Best place to get Craws is to seine them yourself. Soft, hard alive or dead they are awesome for catfish. You can keep them in a cooler and let them molt themselves. I remember reading articles about how to make them molt using paper towels and one using crackers. I don't remember exactly how to do this or where I read it, but I know that I took a whole bunch I seined from Hickman and caught a boatload of channels on them one evening.

Jabbo you are right this is what my father told me. Take a wet towel or damp place on top of the crawls in some thing refrigerated hope thats spelled right but any way come back in a week or few days to see if there soft. I have personally never tried this before, but one time I stopped at a bait store and asked how much for the soft crawls and the price was 9.00 bucks a dozen for that price I think I might catch my own.
