Little Help in Louisville

Hey guys, just moved to Louisville and looking for the hot bass fishing places. I took my boat out to Guist Creek last week twice and caught nothing, it was probably me but I couldn't get the fish to bite on anything? Any advice on where to go close by to catch some fish?

Close lakes with good bassin: Nolin, Rough River, Taylorsville; Indiana: Hardy and Patoka
Rivers: Ohio River and its tributaries.

Guist Creek Lake has the best numbers of large bass according to the KY Fish & Wildlife people last year. The following sounds wierd but it is true....Guist Creek bass turn off (shut down) when the water is on the rise. No joke. #1 lure is the #5 Shadrap in silver/black followed by bottom bumping soft plastics (worms, jigs). With the price of gas now, the pressure on Guist should start picking up. Early bird gets the worm. lol
