I pulled my Wildcat blue Tracker, complete with "UK" decal on the windshield, down into enemy Volunteer country this weekend. My parents live in Gallatin and I took my Dad out on Old Hickory for a little fishing for Father's Day. It was my first time on Old Hickory...we fished Saturday, then again for awhile this morning.

We launched out of Sumner Co. Park...ran around some sightseeing, but ended up flipping the docks way back up in some creeks. Reaction Innovations Flirts and Paca Craws fished on Shakey Heads around those docks caught fish, as well as swimming small jigs. I don't know much about the lake, but we were on fish as long as we were flipping those docks. I caught several fish, including 5 keepers, in the first 90 minutes up there this morning. All of them were swimming a smoke purple D&L jig with black Paca Chunk trailer. The fish were hot on it this morning!

I'm definitely not used to running the river channel in that system, but you could go from 50' in the channel to 2' just outside the channel...scared me to death a couple of times when the shallow alarm went off on my graph. Tough lake to run!
