    Re: Ranger vs. Lincoln

What a tramautic accident. Glad you're still around to tell about it. Plus, it's good timing... just before we haul our boats this weekend. I know I'll be more vigilant.

    Thanks,

    John

"LOL!!!" I know how you feel, I would curl up in the fetal position sucking my thumb! It took me 20+ years to even get a Ranger and can only take a split second to take it away, I do not idolize it and would live without it but I love what it does for me - peace. I'm proud to hear how you handled the situation and keeping your eyes on God - Kudo's my man

    Re: Ranger vs. Lincoln

Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and Prayers. I have the boat at a certified Ranger repair facility to check it out so that is a good thing.

Let's just hope that State Farm is willing to pay for all the damage that was caused.

    Thanks again to all,

Glad to hear everyone is ok..............

But remember one thing.........as the other party is at total fault ..accept nothing less than what you want as due compensation...........you have them at your mercy ..........and when it comes to insurance companies..thats a few and far between position...........

Glad you and everyone are ok. On the other hand I wouldn't settle for repairs! How about replacing it with a New One! Wasn't your fault.......

    Re: Ranger vs. Lincoln

I'm sure glad everyone is okay!! Accident's are a horrible thing. I deal with them every day. oddly enough I am a special lines Insurance Adjuster for one of the bigger insurance companies. (special lines just means, Boats, Bikes RV's ETC.) Unfortunately you can't write your own ticket or dollar amount. What you can do is make sure that the "Farm" pays you the fair market value of your boat. They may use the NADA book or run a market search. (locate comparable boats) if yours is a total loss. If your boat isn't a total loss then they will pay for damages that restore you to pre loss condition. You get to choose the repairer so the quality of the repair depends on you and your choice of shop. If the shop does a poor job and State Farm pays the correct dollar amount for the repairs to be completed correctly they will bow out after the repairs are completed. After all, they let you choose the repairer. Remember if anything in the boat was damaged, they owe you for that too. The goal is to indemnify you.. If you have broken rods, electronics, Bass Tournament entry fees etc. These are all losses to you and they owe you for that. One last thing.. Because your trailer was more than likely hooked to a receiver type hitch that bolts directly to your truck's frame. I would suggest having your truck's frame rails checked. A well equipped body shop can do this for about 2 hours at their frame labor rate (usually about 50-70 dollars an hour) (State farm should pay for this too) This will ensure that your frame is still true and safe to haul your boat when it's ready for the water once again!!
Hope this helps you a little bit.

Dang wouldn't that have been part of the physical evidence and could show signs of mental duress or somethin like that....I know I'd be like a fruit cake if that happened to me....I have already had 5 back surgeries and the thought of being in an auto accident just makes cold chills go up my back.....

    Re: Ranger vs. Lincoln

I know it has been a few days since the last update. State Farm has offered to fix the boat and give me $1077 dollars to find a replacement Ranger trail trailer for my boat. I laughed at them and told them when they got serious about closing this claim out then they needed to call me back.

You can't buy the wheels and tires on my boat for $1077... Get real State Farm!

    Just thought I would share!
