Hey guys just got permission to go fishin sunday from the boss lady. Going to try my luck at Nolin Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Was there last Saturday, got there at about 3 pm, ramped in at Wax. Ran down to Dog Creek. Go in till you get to the right hand turn that takes you around the island. Follow back till you come to your first left hand turn, you'll see a pontoon dock up on your far right side. From where you can first see that dock to the dock, we fished top water Spooks, small white grubs, and small white rooster tails catching 6 nice 1-2 pound bass, and several white bass. Close to sun down, come back out from the island to where you came in and made the right, at that intersection turn right, to head out around a small island and a right turn that brings you across from the campground and the no wake line of buoys. Fish 1/2 way from the no wakes to the outside banks (farest from the campground), same baits, and same results with surface feeding white bass and black bass. Good luck.
also try a shakey head worm on bluff walls that have ledges, (not the straight drop walls). Big fish are deep, so put your boat in 40-50 feet of water and fish 15-25 feet deep. DD-22, carolina rig, and jigs. We caught many short fish last weekend just couldn't get that big bite. Skitter pop and pop-r work well on those schooling fish busting top. Good luck
Heard through the grape vine, wacky worm in the morning, then move out deeper and throw deep diving cbs. A friend did real well throwing a shad color DD 22. He said that him and his partener caught a good number od nice biggies and a couple of big walleyes. As far as location, its beyond me but that is probable what I would do.
