Herrington Hybrids

Has anyone been catching hybrids at night with any success? Is it better in the mornings? I haven't fished Herrington in years but thought about trying to troll crankbaits and see if I couldn't catch a few.

I saw a boy on a dock beside Chimney rock marina fishing for them at night under a light. He was using a crappie jig and casting into the lit area. I watched this kid reel in 6 or 7 while I was fishing close to him. All of them were good fish ranging from 4-7 pounds. If I were going to go I would fish the lights after dark or topwater evening and morning.
