Gwinn Island, Herrington

I have heard alot about Gwinn Island being good to fish for bass. I usually work Chimney Rock and up. So what is the hot spots for nights??

Are you fishing tourney's or just fun fishin ? I know were all the small fish are ..believe me I have caught enough of them this year.

I am getting back into the tourney trail after a long break. So I guess I am fishing for both at the time.

I fished the other night and caught 2 on the point across from the marina (Gwinn). I spent about 2 hours fishing up that direction and those were the only 2 bites I could get. I headed back towards the Pandora stretch and Mile Stretch and caught quite a few. I fished deep in 20-45 feet of water but no big ones. Plastics are working well for me now in just about any color.
I think its mostly confidence and if you don't have it for the area that you are fishing in then you may as well leave and go to what you know. Take a night and go fun fishing and see how you do.
I would fish the point that I said and then keep going towards Pandora and fish the next 2 coves on the left right there on that same stretch as that point. I hope I didn't confuse you. These are my favorite spots around Gwinn.

If this weather holds off I might try a morning trip. If not I will be out there with my co fisher Tuesday night and give it a shot. Thanks
