    Rain and the Ohio's condition

Well, the Northern KY and Indiana areas have been nailed the passed couple days with heavy rains again. Think about doing the river at Salt this Monday night for an all nighter.

How's the river after all this rain? Did it go brown again? How much drift is out there?

When I crossed the bridge in Louisville this morning it was starting to get some mud color to it but I didnt see any debris. That usually takes a couple of days...When I go home from work tomorrow morning I will give you an update.

    What's new?

Well, at least we have NEW mud, instead of the old stagnant stuff.

Just figured out how to tie Sabiki rigs and wanted to go try some. Hope to hook up some Skippy, then Skippy my way to some "thunder cats". Got inspired when I saw this video, link below.

Is the Mekong Delta above or below Otter Creek? I can't find it on my Ohio River Charts.

Re: Rain and the Ohio's condition

That reminds me of my fight with a fish on the Ohio a couple of years ago on my 5' ultra light spinning rod using 14 spider wire throwin a black Mepps in-line spinner. The first cast I hook into something and away my line went...I had the drag set just right cause we were off to the races. This fish was actually pulling me down river in my TR 196 Triton Bass Boat. I fought this fish for over 45 minutes and was never able to see the fish. People came riding by and actually stopped to watch the excitement. My brother-in-law was standing behind me with a Gatorade in one hand and a camera in the other more excited than I was. He didn't know which to set down in order to grab the net, the camera or the Gatorade which was to help cool me off from the fight. I had never in my life been hooked up with such a strong swimming fish in my life. It was a blast and all of a sudden after being pulled from the Indiana side to the KY side and back to the Indiana side the lure just popped free from the fish... Really sad at least I wanted to know what it was giving me such a battle.....

P.s. Thank goodness that guy sat down in that boat, I thought he was goin in a couple of times when that cat made them big runs.....lol

Hey Bob,,,when you going to take me or me take you out on the river. Due to the price of gas now I`ve had to cut weekly trips abunch. So if the river ever gets back in shape,,lets get out and do some fishing. I think there was some talk last yr about you Elwood and I getting out and do some striper fishing and some Big cat fishing.
