    Stoner Creek

Hey fellers...would somebody be so kind to give me a little conditions report for Stoner Creek? (Fryman's Pool)

Not looking for anything specific, but haven't been over there in awhile and was wondering about the moss situation and general activity of our finned friends right now...

    Thanks!

The moss is getting thicker in most spots and the current was pretty limited last week (Thursday). Got one hit on top of the moss, but most wanted soft plastics away from the moss. Water temp 78-81 and got clearer up the farther we went up. No topwater bite to speak of either-one small one on a popper.

I thought about heading to Frymans tomorrow (Tues.) since it's the new moon and all. The creek has good color at the Ike's pool with a little duckweed here and there. The creek stage is 13.3
Anyone else planning a new moon trip?

    Re: Stoner Creek

Last week & weekend the fishing was pretty decent. most of my bites came on jigs and plastics (Ben has some killer purple/smoke cabin creek jigs at the shop) on the rock wall down by the dam. up the creek i had a couple bites on the second rock wall before the fork with white crankbaits. the stoner side had alot of moss on top...caught two throwing a big buzzbait parallel to the moss line.
water was 79-83 degrees...stained down by the ramp but cleared upstream. hope this helps...good luck

Just saw a boat go up from the Ike's pool looks like the duckweed is getting worse today. I do plan to hit Frymans tomorrow will let you know what I see and how I do.

Just got back from Frymans, if you fish go late in the day. The morning and mid morning bite is virtualy non existant. Had 1 dink on a 300 series Bandit in white, foul hooked him with a Fritz sticker. Plenty of moss and duck weed to throw frogs on just don't expect any blow ups. No jig bite no worm, no buzz bait. One feller said he had 3 on a buzzer real early but they were all short. Might as well fish it while you can the duckweed will soon take over as usual. Frymans did look a little better than Ike's but was a little more stained too.

    Re: Stoner Creek

Was at Fryman's today...ended up fishing a not-so-good time period, from about Noon - 4:00PM. The only pattern I could find was no pattern. Moss wasn't bad at all from the fork in the road to the dam...getting pretty thick beyond that...but just couldn't find many active fish. I caught one about 2-1/2 lbs on a buzzbait tucked up next to some moss. My buddy caught one small fish on a jig. That's it. Crankbaits, spinnerbaits, frogs in the salad, shakey head...nada.

Ah well, it was better than being at the office.

    Happy Fourth of July folks.
