Do you guys always launch from South Lick Fork Ramp?
It took me a while to find your route on my MapSource Digital Map but I found it. Looks like a more direct route to the South Lick Fork Launch ramp.
1025 E runs North South. Is that road curvy or hilling or both?
I went though Ferdinand one time but it was by accident and it was a long time ago.
Glad to see we are not the only ones using this route . A few years back me & my 12 year old daughter were fishing Patoka when they weather started to turn bad . We were behind Lick Fork so I headed to the ramp to get off the lake before it got bad - some people in a pontoon boat were leaving and said they heard on the radio that a funnel cloud had been spotted by Marango so we double-timed it loading the boat . About the time we got to 1025 it was raining so hard I could hardly see and the lightning was crazy . We found out later that a tornado had hit Marango so this short-cut may have saved our lives !
When I had my bass boat I would launch from Lick Fork to avoid paying the fee to get in the park and just motor to my favorite fishing spot { with a 125HP it didnt take long } . 1025 is a straight road but it has several steep hills . 98zr2 is correct that you can get to Newton Stewart faster that way also .
