    Nascar

How many guy's watched the Daytona night race? What is up with this new commercial deal running on the screen while the race is on? This is aweful! Even when a caution flag is waved they finish the commercial first and then fill you in on what happened. I really don't like it. Kinda like someone standing in front of the t.v. and your looking around them to see the show.

I think it would have been a pretty good idea if handled properly. Makes no sense though when they double the amount of commercials. Nascar is going downhill rather quickly if you ask me.

I used to be a big fan of NASCAR, but I can't watch it anymore. It's become too commercialized, gimmicky, etc. It's almost like professional wrestling at this point. Also, most of the old school drivers are gone.

The Daytona race Saturday was the first one I've watched any significant time all year. I saw about a third of it. Those commercials could have been a good idea, but they came on every 2 minutes and that got annoying.

I do believe most stations will be experimenting with a commercial of some sort like this your talking about on the Nascar Race. They know that now alot of people are using VCR's, DVR's and TIVO recordings and their sponsors are losing out on them being seen by viewers....

I know I sure as heck DVR any show I like, just so I can FF through the Commercial junk....I just plain hate to watch commercials during my TV viewing time......

Never thought nof the DVR angle but it's still worth a "ff" through the commercials because they ruin the show anyway.

A friend of mine always makes fun of the fact that I love hockey. To him it's a bunch of guys on skates whacking each other with sticks. Yet he loves to watch guys driving around in circles for hours at a time. Oh well, to each his own.

I can kind of understand doing the commercials that way, if it was handled well, because it's not like other sports where there are natural breaks in the action. But of course, they're using it as an opportunity to ramp up the number of commercials. But, there's money involved, so it's not surprising.

I know alot of people see NASCAR as boring but just like other sports there is alot of strategy in play at all times maybe even more. These guys have to consider changes in the shock package, tire pressure, gas mileage, tire wear, tire camber, trac bar adjustments, brake adjustments, how do they fix an ill handling car within the time limits of the race and of course the pit stops and track position. Remember alot of Engineering is involved in these cars and with technology comes problems, I really enjoy it.
On the other hand I am not a fan of Hockey or Baseball but as stated before to each his own.
