    Trout fishing Sugar Ridge

Anyone ever caught any there? I know they used to stock them, but never heard anything about people actually catching them. If yes, any decent size? Thanks.

The only pit they are stocked in is Bethel. We fish Bethel for the gills(It has some dandies) and end up catching a trout now and then. There are usually several that fish for them soon after release and most use corn.

Been a couple years since I have been on Bethel but they were the typical stocked trout. Big enough to eat but no whoppers. Best thing to do is contact Dan Carnahan at Suger Ridge (Biologist). If anyone knows whether they survive throughout the year it would be him. Don't overlook the gills in there.

Hey guys , I fished Bethel last fall after they stocked it in Oct. - mostly 8-10 inch stock trout . Limit is 5 fish , its posted at the boat ramp which is concrete and in good shape . The pit is "T" shaped , deepest water is 23 feet so I doubt that many trout survive the summer but you never know . Fishing from a boat take the left arm of the "T" and fish around the wood under the water . Use canned corn for bait and chum . They are fighters and will throw a hook easily . Ive seen some 4-5 lb bass in there and caught some hand sized gill also . Make sure you have a trout stamp . Good luck !
