KY vs other states discussions?

Just checking to see if anyone knows why the KY discussion board gets so much activity, it has about 9900 threads vs 2500 for all other states combined on this website. I fish quite a few TN lakes as i'm in southeast KY but don't want to post off topic...er..location. But there isn't a lot of activity on the other discussion boards .

I think it's just that there are many groups of guys that know eachother on here and that helps the general activity. In addition we have a Moderator that guides on Kentucky and Barkley which forms another common thread plus most of the guys on here are genuine hard working fellas that love the sport. I have met many and they have all been 1st Class!

The answer is clear and I think 9900 threads will support my answer, we just flat out, out-fish all other states combined. I am sure to get a few feathers ruffled with this comment but if I can't go fishing due to a hernia, at least I can sit (or is it HIDE) behind a computer and stir the pot.

I'd say at one time when Jim, Dave, Danny, Fishgurl, and myself were going at constantly for a while the posts added up.
But as of late we don't bicker and argue. So the good posts have come out and added up. We do have a lot of activity on the Ky board as well as the Ky Tourney board..

BTW, as anyone heard from Danny? He's still a Fishin.com member, reguardless.

Here is another reason. When Peter first started this site around 1996, it was only Kentucky related. Back then there weren't any boards for other states and no lake reports except for Kentucky waters. There were also no mods on the board, no registration to post and no Jim Dicken.

When I first found the site I was new to the area, and was looking up fishing reports for Kentucky Lake and Fishin.com was one of the first sites that popped up. There's alot of guys who search the Kentucky board because of the plethera of bass tournies here on Ky/Barkley, not to mention we're the home of the FLW, Redman etc..

Ky has a lot of water to fish, and there are a lot of good fishermen in this state that enjoy fishing and making friends and sharing information. It seems Ky fishermen have a brotherhood who really care about each other which comes through stronly in their post. This is refreshing in a day when the world is so uncertain. It makes me realize, that there is hope in my fellowman.
