Re: 10 cent per gallon tax increase on fuel?

Why OH Why did I look at this page and see the political innuendos concerning our great politicians of Congress, who through no fault of their own, get a vehicle of their choice as well as a unlimited gas card, so they do not have to worry about paying for fuel for their vehicle in order to make it to work, much less to their favorite lake. It really gets my blood boiling when I see a politician make a speech patting him/her self on the back for looking out for me. That is why when election time comes around I never vote for the person that is in office. Should that person not have anyone running against them, I do a write in because they are not going to get my vote. If everyone would do that then the politicos would then know who is in charge and do their job and not running for reelection just as soon as they get sworn in.
Thanks for letting me vent, I feel much better now.

Dingle's a smart guy. Okeedokey, if you say so.

Congratulations to Jamie Lee Curtis on her new car. Nice to be rich enough to do your part to combat the ever so real global warming threat. Man, do I look up to those good ole down to earth Hollywood stars.

Moose, you sure harp on the rich a lot. What if you hit the lottery, or some unknown benefactor left you a fortune? Would you still vote Barrack even though he'd have the federal government forcibly take your legally obtained money and redistribute it to the masses?

Andrew, if gas taxes have been going toward our infrastructure, why is supposedly in such bad shape? A tax holiday is not a joke to me at all. ANYTIME and I mean anytime the government reduces taxes, such a rare occurrence is no joke.

Fact: If Obama's elected, the Bush tax cuts are a goner, and your, yes YOUR taxes will increase.

Like all Dems, BO says he'll tax the rich instead of you, and you may be gullible enough to believe him. Fact is, the rich are already heavily taxed. Yes there are loopholes, but the loopholes are designed to infuse the money back into the economy.

Ever completed a tax form where your income was higher than the table in the tax book? If not, whip out your beautifully composed federal 1040 book and check out the rates above those in the table. If you don't put your money back into the system (that's capitalist system, there Moose and PL, not the other system that starts with a C) the government will punish you severely.

Re: 10 cent per gallon tax increase on fuel?

    Devils Horse:
Who said that taxes will increase when Obama win the White House? State a source and define who's taxes will increase and who's taxes will decrease

Obama has stated over and over again that he would repeal Bush's Tax cuts so that's true. But lets look at this in depth shall we. Lets tell the WHOLE Truth not just the part that makes someone look good or bad.

The top 2% of wage earners which excludes 98% of most folks will see a tax increase and that means that 98% of the tax payers will see a tax DECREASE!

When the top breadwinners like Bill Gates get taxed more then the rest of get a tax break.

Now are you though naming calling. I resent the fact that you label people with the "C" lable. Perhaps you would rather support the facist? Carniege of Carniege Steel was more a facist type dictator than a American Businessman. He ruled with just as much of an iron hand as Stalin did in the old Soviet Union after WWII.

Remember we fought with the Communist not the Hitler's Facist NAZI party.
The Russians lost a lot more men during that War than the USA did. We would not have won WWII without the Russians doing most of the land fighting between 1943 and 1945. We didn't land in Normandy until after the Battle of Kursk. But I'd bet you never heard much about that tank battle?

When Bush cut the riches taxes they in fact made everyone else's taxes go up! Someone has to pay for Bush's war in Iraq and you can bet it's not the Iraqis. Our kids have to pay that debt off. That's a tax increase!

The top 2 % of tax payers have enough money to easily pay these tax. Those that earn less than $250,000 (quarter of a million dollars) a year will see a tax break. These are the folks that can use the tax break the most.

Giving 98% fo the folks a tax break will increase their spendable income and increase demand for goods and service. Trickle up works.

When the demand for a product or service is there you can be sure someone with money will build a product that can meet the new demand or they will start a service that can fullfill the new demand.

Re: 10 cent per gallon tax increase on fuel?

Well I'll pass on the Google. Thankfully Dingle is not running the Dems in congress. Last time I looked Nancy was still Speaker of the House and third in line to the President in the line of succession.

And if it's true that Dingle proposed a tax increase it was to slow down the usage of gasoline. By not using oil we in effect will drop the price of oil. You drop the demand and the price goes down.

So your misreading of his intentions is wrong. Hopefully you are not making that up. I just wonder how you can read his mind?

I watch the news all day long and there has not been much mentioned about any tax hike on gasoline. Perhaps you heard that on some Extreme right Wing-nut web site or it was found on such a web site and repeated on Fox Noise and a news item. I see that Fox Noise does that a lot.

And as oil prices increase the cost to fix the roads also increase.

Here where I live the budget for the county highway dept is being eaten up fast by the higher prices oil based products. The County Council and the Union have agreed to switch to a 4 day work week that consists of 10 hr days. They claim it will save everyone money. Workers will save one days commute to and from work and each day there will be less travel compared to the amount of work that's done in each 10 hour day. So that's the thought anyway. We will see if it works out and saves people money. BTW this county council is run by our local GOP and they have been doing a pretty good job from what I can see. All their meetings are put on TV for everyone to see. Since they hold the meetings during the daytime when most folks are at work. I still say they should not hold meetings until after 5:30 PM so that folks that work days (most of the US population) can attend the meetings and speak their mind. I just love it when they hold the meetings at 4 pm and they meeting room is almost empty except for a few retires that attend and the commissioners and County Staff. But the Dems do it this way too. They don't want to face the general public in these meetings. I am surprise that they have allowed the meetings to be Televised.

Now as for your comments about Global Warming? Do you not think that the ice is melting at the poles more often with each passing summer? Even your President Bush has admitted to that. The National Security People are also worried about the melting ice at the Northern Hemisphere. Did you miss my essay on the increase in the number and frequency of the Russian Submarines traveling in that area of the world. Instead of being 30 minutes from Washington D.C. via intercontinental Ballistic missile they are closer and thus only 15 minute away from the polar areas. One Russian Boomer could effectively take out 20 US Cities that size of Dallas or Chicago. And the earth's increased temperatures are allowing these boomers access to this area.

Not to mention the fact that if the Earth keeps warming up by another 6 deg C average we won't have to worry much about Washington DC as it will be flooded and everyone there will have to move to higher ground. That has happened in the past and it will happen again. Only the next time it happens may be much sooner than would occur naturally. And the last time that area was under the ocean we didn't have 7 billion humans on this earth.

Hint: Sell your property in Florida and anywhere along the US Coast Lines before the Oceans levels rise too much.

We don't know when but we do know that it's moving faster than before. Ice melts faster once it warms up and starts melting. Glaciers that melt off the land masses will be flowing into the Oceans and will raise the sea levels.

Al Gore is much smarter than most of the GOP posters on this forum.

Re: 10 cent per gallon tax increase on fuel?

    Moose,
Dude come on, why would I make that up? Just google it and pick which article you would like to read it's really easy. No room for mistakes on this, he has proposed this several times.

Also google the 10 cent tax hike and again this wonderful Google thingy will give you your pick on what to read. It's very easy. You have to do it or hold your opinion because at that point it's denial. Tell me I'm wrong that either of these happened. Go ahead look it up.

I have heard way too many scientist refute the claims of Global Warming. I don't buy into it. I also don't like POLS (left or right) telling me how to live. Especially the ones from the left that believe Gore. His argument is weak at best because he doesn't practice what he preaches. How much money is he making off of the Global Warming thing? MILLIONS! Any of that going to some research and development? Does he have a geo thermal home? Solar?

If this man believed what he says would he have the big vehicles and boat and private jets flying him everywhere? By not showing an example he is grouped into the radical group of power hungry Liberals that want to control how the rest of the country live.

To repeat myself again! If you want to be taken seriously by more people lead by example! Don't preach and then run off in an SUV to the airport to your private jet to your huge energy thirsty home. That's a lesson taught in the Military as well...lead by example! He should show us ALL what he has done for himself and his family to reduce his energy consuption then it would look real.

I'm against any and all tax increases. There is no need. Let's trim government waste before we talk about taxing things.

Angry Re: 10 cent per gallon tax increase on fuel?

Since gas has hit $ 4.00 a gallon on average...Most people have cut back on vacations...But do you think Nancy Pelosi has / is/ going to cut back on her vacation...she's going to start a month long vacation starting Aug. 2nd. Thus this month long vacation will keep the Bill to allow Drilling for Oil here locally in the States and surrounding area's from coming up for a vote.....

Thanks Nancy, I hope you choke on a pepperoni or something and get your butt sun burned real well..... Hopefully the voters of California have realized the sad mistake of voting you into office and make sure your not allowed in again to keep the USA from moving forward in search of home Oil drilling......

Wake up people, this woman thinks she's a god now that she is the head honcho in congress......
