    night fishing barren

hello all, I have been trying to night fish at barren a little in the last week or so. I have had NO luck. This is my first attempt at night fishing. Does anyone have any suggestions that could maybe help. I am not asking for your honey holes , just some tips or tricks that might help. Thanks

Fished it again Sunday night and the bite was good. Try bottom bouncing soft plastics. Stay in contact with the bait.

Hey man, you have to try all the above. Living that close to the lake you shouldn't have any problems finding fish. The bite is on, fish deep!!!

I night fished there last Friday night. We found a wind blown main lake point that had a flat, then the river channel. There was stick-ups on the flat. There wasn't much wind but the fish became active everytime it started blowing. Drag or pop a T-rig 10" worm and you should do fine.

    Re: night fishing barren

I fished a tournament last Friday night. Had 4 keepers, lost 3 really good fish, one maybe over five pounds. They day bite and night bite are totally different right now. Day bite is getting worse each day. All 4 of my keepers came off a Carolina Rig, baby brush hog, with a short leader. Around 10". The length of the leader made a huge difference. I fished with a 16" leader and didnt catch a fish! I found this out while I was practicing for our tournament. I broke off and re-tied and only had a 10" leader. Started catching the heck out of fish. Stay on the main lake. All points such as hog back are good. The bluff by the **** was good too. Try a black and red 4" flipping tube Texas Rigged there too. Also if it gets late in the night, go over by the new boat ramp (port oliver) and fish the point infront of it. Try something finnesse there, like drop shot or shakey head. Alot of tournament release fish hanging out there. All of my bigger fish have come 14-20ft deep. If you fish in the day, find brush piles 12-18ft deep. Also heard of people catching alot of 15inch fish during the day with 200 series bandits along the old grass/brush lines from last yrs water being low. Not heard any big fish coming from it though. Best of luck.
