It has been a while since BigPoppy has been on the Board, He has been sick most of the summer. Poppy (Dennis) is my father in law on the 22 of july he went for a doctors appointment at the Nashville VA. I have written a prayer request for him about three years ago when he became very sick with the Kidney disease that he has been fighting against for a very long time the Docs told us then he might make 6 months back then. Well I believe your prayers helped him then and I hope they help him now On tuesday the Doc
read the results of a pet scan, they found that he had cancer of the spleen you can not Biopsey a spleen as it will burst and bleed out in the stomach. the spleen had shown a lot of growth and swelling when he had a CT of his remaining kidney. The results of the pet scan showed that he has got cancer in every lymph node in his body and it has also attacted his thyroid glands in his neck. They told him that the spleen could be removed, but the other two areas have to have tissue sample so that they can identify the exactly what type of cancer has hit him. He has been a part of my life for 7 years now. I was raised by a single mom and I never had a father figure. He has done everything a father in law should, a whole lot more than he should have. So I hope you will help us with your prayers. I wish you guys could know him like I have. On the day of this bad news he was at the hospital for nearly nine hours and this was after they drove one hundred miles down there and then another hundred coming back this was a total of 13 hours. He called us and wanted to know if we were all right, and if we needed anything, it was not until a couple of hours later when Nanna (Shirley, his wife of thirty years) called us with the news. so if you can say a little prayer for him, and us for that matter. He is a pretty good old man and we love him! And if you could drop him a line here on the board I will make take a few minutes to catch up on his Email here and he has one on excite also, it is [email protected], it would mean a lot to him. Thanks for your time.
