I used to do all that Ryan suggest above. 2 Years ago I fished a Luckycraft Sammy for the first time. Out of the box, I have caught more fish on Sammy 85's and 100's then I have on spooks in the prior 20 years. I have not fished a spook in 2 years and now they lay in my storage room down stairs.

Since the sammy is a topwater, the chance of loosing one is slim. The original Sammy85 that I bought is now starting to loose a bit of paint after being thrown and bit 100's of times. I have gotten my money's worth.
