Ohio River Flathead

[SKIPJACK]

I caught this 27lb. Flathead last night. We were fishing a ledge close to Westport, Ky. The river is down a little, not a lot of current. Bait was not in the usual places, so we had to hunt, but we finally netted some nice Shad just before dark. This fish came out of 35' of water, using 1 cut Shad and one live Shad on a 12/0 King Kahle hook. We caught about 8 fish total, this one being the biggest. Dave

Thanks, Rob. This fish put up one heck of a fight! I caught him with a
Penn Captiva CV8000 spinning reel, strung with 30 lb Trilene, on a 8' Berkley glow stick. When I got him close to the boat, He made several runs towards deep water. It took me about 10 min to get him in the boat.

nice flathead... i've been fishing westport a little bit myself here lately. fished a small tourney there over the weekend, and we took 4th (all we could find were 3 fish)
