Mercury 150 2.5L carb. Oil Mixture?

I seem to be smoking a lot more then other boats Right now I am using 16 onces to 6 gallon is this right?

yep, well actually 15.36 oz, but you aren't going to get that close and it doesn't matter if you are 50:1 or 48:1. When I had my 2.5 Merc with oil injection, what I always said is that when it stops smoking, is when I needed to worry (i.e. not getting oil), Oil in the gas is what lubricates the 2 cycle.


GALLONS X 128 (ounces) / RATIO = OUNCES OF OIL TO MIX WITH GAS

6 gallons X 128 (ounces) / 50 (50:1 ratio) = 15.36 ounces of oil for 6 gallons of gas.

128 ounces = 1 gallon
