    Re: Progressive Insurance.....what A Joke!

I hate to hear that. Sounds like you did get a bad deal. Maybe you just got stuck with a bad office.

I have filed two claims. One boat claim three years ago and a vehicle claim last night. The fully covered $3000 to have my lower unit rebuilt, new prop, skeg, ect. No questions asked no problems. I had a deer hit me last night and will probably need a new door on my explorer. I just got off the phone with the adjuster and he told me to pick a day and call him, drop my truck off, and they would have a rental car waiting on me at the body shop.

So the Bowling Green and E-town area Progressive people have been great to deal with... I would be beyond angry if I were in your shoes though and would be looking for a new company.

Unhappy Re: Progressive Insurance.....what A Joke!

Sorry to here about that Heath, It a real shame that you paid for insurance on your boat and trailer and when you needed them they wasn't there for you . Was that your first claim with them? How long have you been with progressive? I like to get all my facts straight before I tell your story to my friends.

I would be careful about cancelling policies after a claim is denied and switching companies. It will probably make your premiums double, if they decide to insure you. Inusurance companies will research past claims, and be hesitant to provide service or the best premium price if they think you will switch after every denied claim.

I would get in contact with the state insurance commissioner. His office helped me a great deal. I had a homeowners claim wrongly denied and the ins. commisioner guided me through resubmitting the claim and it was covered.

The result really inhales. Other's have mentioned to have a good relationship with your agent. IMO that will not have any difference in what the adjuster decides.

The agent is a SALESMAN. They treat you nice because YOU are paying THEM a percentage. When a claim is filed the roles reverse and the insurance company does NOT want to let go of THEIR money.

Angry Re: Progressive Insurance.....what A Joke!

Thanks guys for all the advice....I have everything else we own insured with State farm. I fell for all the commercials that progressive runs on all my fishing show, in all my bass magazines and even the adds on this web site.

They made it sound so good and that they were there for the fisherman and boaters. Well, that doesn't seem to be the case. I'm by far not the only one that they have screwed over. I have the names of several other people.

This is the first ever claim that I have ever filed on anything. First ever and this happens. Sure puts a bad taste in my mouth.

I plan on calling the insurance commisioner on monday.

    Thanks again guys,

    Heath
