Kentucky River report

Fished yesterday (Friday) in Woodford County. Beautiful day for fishing--no humidity, cool, a few puffy clouds--but terrible for catching. Fished from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Result? One bluegill. Threw Senko worms, a crankbait, curly-tailed grub, spinnerbait, crawdad jig. Fished steep rocky banks, submerged timber, brush piles, shallow weedy shoreline. Cast to the shade, cast to the light. Might have done better at dawn, dusk or midnight, I suppose. But I was there when I was there. Mr. Bass is definitely on vacation. Anyone know when he'll be back in town?

Some friends and I had a 5 boat tourney on the river Friday evening from 4 to 8:30. Three boats weighed one fish. Winner weighed 1 pound. Most reported the most action starting at 8 just before weigh-in. We caught several short fish on laydowns and brush. It's tough right now. Wish I could fish it at night.

Fished out of Tyrone this morning from 6 to 1. Had 3 small Ky.'s, a few log perch,and 1 hugh snapping turtle. The turtle was on a jig from under a stump. River looks great,water temp. 79.8. Nice morning but fishings slow right now.
