All i can say is airsoft. Very quite and doesn't make a sound when you shoot. Feels alot like a wasp sting when it hits. Oh by the way they are very accurate and get the point across. LOL Funny to hear those guys holler about a dang wasp sting and never know where it came from.

One thing that works good also is to catch a keeper or big bass where they just left from, and make sure they see it. We did that a Green a couple years ago, some guys trolled around us and got in front of us, we just kept fishing, did not say a thing, but get the net as both of us caught a couple of nice fish behind them, they left soon. Or better yet lob a gob of sting bait into their boat.

Night Fishing is a world in its own. you can come up on some one at not really notice,,,fishing a point, maybe they dont have black lights, we all no the scenarios.
Your case in question, which I have done, is to say. "This spot was hot last night" while the other boat cast over you line. Try to get a little chit chat going. We dont own the "spot" but etiqutte is in order. So,, you reel your line in. Grab your crank bait rod with a DD22, or other crank bait you dont mind losing, Throw over his line and maybe the partners too. Reel down till you see their lines jump and YANK LIKE THERE IS NO TOMORROW. Tell your partner to "Get The Net"!!!!!!!
When you have just about yanked the rods out of their hands and "OOOPPS" Realize your mistake. Apologize, cut your line and while trolling past them, ask in the utmost southern draw,,, "Ya"ll From Ohio???"

    Re: Fishing etiquette!?....

I had a situation happen to me at Nolin last sat. night while fishing an all night tourn. I was fishing down at iberia the bank on the same side of the lake as the boat ramp. I saw several boats passing by ,some stopped and fished and moved on and some I just lost track of. When I got to the point at the cut where the ramp was I crossed the lake with my trolling motor to fish the those three or so points on the other side. I planned on starting at the middle point and just as I was about there and picked up my rod I heard voices, I turned and looked to see that I was cutting off another angler.I hadn't seen him on my approach, he had no blacklights or any light for that matter on and I just didn't see him. I felt bad about it and kind of embarassed that I had did it so I went on around to the back side of the next point (sorry guys) If you had just flashed your nav lites I wouldn't have came near you.

I thought that is what paint ball guns are for. A new paint job on an expensive boat will either get rid of your problem or start a new one.

Airsoft NOTHING...........A deck mounted browning .50 cal.....LOCKED and LOADED.

Nothing like a bassboat/gunboat combo to get the point across.

Stash a couple AT-4's in the rod locker "JUST IN CASE".......

You can probably acquire both off of ebay...........NO RESERVE .

    Later,

Heck if he is being a knucklehead just cast like you were doing but make sure his trolling motor catches your line...sure your out a bait (cheap one I hope) and some line but he is in for a mess and possibly a new seal. I never done that but if I get pissed enough it would work for me.

Now Geo I would have expected that out of elwood but not you LOL. But it is funny to watch jet skiers and rude boaters when they get to close to us when were fishing. They think its real funny until they start feeling the sting and have no idea where its coming from.

Here I am minding my own business and I get drug into this mess. We all know that I would back out of the area quietly as to avoid any conflict. I would also tell them where the sweet spot is in the area and offer to net, clean and cook their catch if needed. I have turned over a new leaf in life and have changed my ways.

WRONG!!!! Beware is all I can say. I will gladly turn on a light in plenty of time to let them know I am fishing here, again offer another light as they come closer and have obviously ignored my first warning and if they still come closer then Fisherman Beware. All I can guarantee is one of us is getting our A$$e$ kicked and most likely wet, whether it is him or me, that is still to be decided. I have a current wife, ex-wife, two teenage daughters, a 4 year old son and spent way too much time under the knife in the hospital to figure anything worse can happen to me on the water. Too much water for people to poach. Not saying I own the lake but if I am there first then too bad for you. You won't EVER find me poaching on anyone else and I expect the same from others.

Surely some of these posts are joking, right? Bodily harm or property damage just because someone was inconsiderate and fished "your" water? Not only is that wrong, but you probably need to hope they don't have something bigger than a wrist rocket or airsoft to reply with.

    Woody,
You might also add that fishing behind you is like fishing behind a seine and cutting u off might be the only chance they got. I think Hens would concur.
