Anyone been on Beaver Lake lately? I was there two weeks ago and the water was murky, due to an algae bloom per the guys at the dock. Just wondering if the fish were biting. It was slow for us.

The fish were probaly running scared to death of that Ranger you have. They actually was thinking if they got near it they would have to just jump right into it and into the livewell so they can be living life in the high life![]()
????? How about the moss any around the lake or has it turned to leather by now?![]()
I don't recall the moss/slop being as bad as it was earlier in the summer. If memeory serves me correctly, seemed to be chunks floating in the middle of the lake, as if it had broken free from the bank, nothing big though just pieces here and there. More towards the ramp than towards the dam.
Was the grass looking healthy?
no moss around banks, chunks floating here and there, water murky brownish color.
I don't think that sounds like an algae bloom.
sounds like they over sprayed the grass like they have for the past 3-4 yrs.
i've fished there 4-5 times in the past month or so. you can catch small fish on traps. but no many keepers.
I don't understand why they keep spraying the grass at beaver killing it off and posioning the water. They was a big write up in the lexington paper
about grass coming back in ky lake and how it was a good thing. fishing is better no only for bass but for bluegill & crappie.
why do they keep killing the lake? Bass fishing for keeper fish hasn't been good there for a few yrs.
Good Point on spraying the grass. It's helped down at KY Lake, but Beaver gets sprayed all the time it seems like. Maybe it's "bad weeds" or something else, but those poor fish haven't got many places to hide, let alone the fry.
