what does zebra mussel larvae look like?

I boated in the Ohio this week. When I got home I noticed little round gold/tan looking things with little bumps on them attached to the bare pontoon metal below the water line. Look kinda like the size of a skipjack herring scale. And looks like it has a whole bunch of little tiny dots on each one.

Is this zebra mussel eggs? What is this stuff????

If not zebra mussels, can you eat it????

The Ohio river huh? Never know what came out of there... Take a few pics and let us see. I'm curious to what it could be. Does Cumberland have Zebra Mussels?
