august patterns on ky and barkley

with the water hot, i have found the bass real shallow around bait in shallow main lake flats. anyone else catching fish shallow on crankbaits.

I haven't fished Barkley this August but I have always done well on shallow flats early and late in the day on surface and spinner baits. Are you fishing main lake flats or flats in the outer parts of bays? I find fish on both but as time passes I seem to find the baitfish moving more into the bays.

I have found the same thing. I kept thinking the fish wre going deeper, bit I could not find them. Went very shallow out of frustration, and started catching again. It has been like that for at least three weeks for me.

I've stuck them on finesse worms w/ pegged texas rig. 4 a.m. to 9 a.m. around 4' up in the slews and slop nothin over 4-5 lbs.
