Wormin,
Yep I was chompin' at the bit to give it a try. Fisheater (John) was gracious enough to invite me earlier in the year but you know how plans work out sometimes! We did catch our own bait...well John did he was throwing the net and aside from the shad we boated a striper and a few drum, of course they went back in the water.

John put us in the right spots and once the feeding time started it was great. This is the first time I used circle hooks and they impressed me on how consistant they hook fish. A typical bite was a tap or thump and then the rod loading up fairly quickly and then hang on! When I pulled into that fish she started zinging drag and making me smile. The current was rippin' so that fish had alot of power to use against me. When she came up and I saw how big she was I was thinking I have to get this thing in the boat! John slipped the net under her and the braid snapped above the hook. I guess it's from rolling around and that braid is raking across those little nubs/teeth the whole time. I think we caught 5 that night. I can't say enough how much fun that was and if you get a chance, try it! I'll try the KY River around lock 8 and if I get it figured out I'll let you know so we can slam a few.

Thanks again John!
