Wow 0-2. Two nights down and the convention is a joke. They can change America????
Thanks Nancy for crushing the economy and raising gas prices.

Watched the presentation and Michelle Obama's speech last night. Pretty well done, misted up and darned near broke down several times. IMO she accomplished her goal to soften herself for America. Not much substance, but a beautifully choreographed performance nonetheless.
Also heard that Bill Clinton said "One could argue nobody is ever really ready for the presidency" (paraphrased) when asked if BO was experienced enough for the job. An artful dodger ole Willy. Best line since asking the grand jury to define the word is.

Somebody surgically removed the joke I attached to this thread, guess it was over the magic line. Wonder which part caused the mod to whip out the exacto knife?
Fished Barren last night, but caught most of Hillary's speech on the radio driving home. She rehashed the same old Dem agenda, but I have to hand it to her, it was delivered impressively. She also had an admirable stab at convincing her supporters to vote for BO. As conservative I'm glad she didn't get the Dem nomination for either office, the woman is a formidable politician.
She sure is and no dummy either. Wouldn't want her as President but I'd sure have her over Hussein.
I think the convention is accomplishing it's purpose - to unify the party. The bad thing I have observed from the convention is Mitt Romney running his big trap - talk about a flip-flopper -He has changed his views so many times, I am not sure he knows what he believes in. Hillary gave a good one - even Bill was proud of that one.
If the Dem's can bring the party together, it is all over for the Republicans. I think the majority of Americans (at least the smart ones) are tired of the way things have been handled over the past 8 years - and are ready for some CHANGE.
I can say I like McCain over the majority of the GOP politicicians - at least the old McCain - before he became a Bush puppet. Anything will be an improvement over our current situation.
You know I keep hereing the liberal democrats say McCain is a Bush puppet? However of all the Repubs on capital hill he has probably went agaist Bush more than any other Senator in the Republican party. I really don't see that in him and his voting record shows it. That is one of the main reasons alot of the GOP can't stand him is because he isn't afraid to go against the grain. Watch the Dem National convention closely, talk about puppets, OMG. what's up next a 70's love in and free LSD for all. How did you all like that hitman sitting beside Slick Willy last night, lol. McCain will win Obama is loosing ground daily.
Col you just said we conservative voters are not as smart as you, what do you say we flesh it out a little.
BTW, how is it your party puts Guam up front at the DNC and Rhode Island (a legitimate U.S. state) in the nosebleed seats. Bet you a dollar to a donut, they got more money from Guam than the small state of RI. Can't help but notice Biden's small state Delaware is right up front. Now that sure is the politics of change in action isn't it?
What aside from Iraq and social medicine is BO going to try and change? You prepared to pay more taxes for his trillion dollars worth of changes? What's that you say? Oh, he's only going to tax the oil companies and the bad ole rich people. Riiiight.
How do you arrive at the conclusion our country's in such a terrible mess anyway? Because Hillary, BO, and every other Dem tells you so? The only way Democrats ever make any headway is crying the sky is falling and only they can fix it. And you smart folks just slam that kool aid by the gallon.
It's my contention that the sky is not falling, the country is in pretty good shape. Believe me I've seen it far worse. So happens it was during the Carter administration, and Barack Obama reminds me more of Jimmy Carter than anyone I've ever seen. It took a conservative republican (Reagan) to TRULY make changes and get the economy where it is today. Every president since then has basically ridden the train of economic prosperity built by the Ronald Reagan administration.
I'll go ahead and tick off some your 'horrible condition of the country' points for you.
1. The education system. You and the Dems seem to feel a social problem can be fixed with more money, even though we're spending unprecedented amounts on education now.
2. Iraq. Don't worry about the lives spent to get where we are now, just get out. We don't need any puppets or allies in the middle east, BO will talk to them and it'll all be okay.
3. 47,000,000 people in our country don't have medical insurance. Medical care should be provided for every citizen (and illegal alien) whether they want it or not. Furthermore BO is going to give all you lucky citizens who work to make sure your families already have insurance the privilege of paying for the 47 million who don't.
3. The horrible condition of America's poor. We need to take those evil rich peoples' money and redistribute it. I and many many others grew up without the air conditioning, 2 cars, cell phones, food stamps, 50 inch televisions, welfare checks, Aid to Dependant Children, and an endless list of other things the "poor" have today. Maybe you can explain why so many starving poverty stricken people in our country are grossly overweight and already collecting government issued money? While you're at it, please explain why never married women stupid enough to have a house full of kids by 3 or 4 different men should be supported by the rest of us, while the fathers of those kids never pay a dime. A final question. how is it the rural "poor" do just fine, most not wanting or getting much from the government, while the feds dump gobs of money into the inner cities?
4. The deficit. BO will stop us from borrowing Chinese money to buy Arabian oil for sure. Who's going to pay for it? Well certainly not we middle class people. Not the poor, they already get a federal tax 'refund' of more than they paid in to start with. Guess it's gotta be those stinking rich people again, and of course the evil oil and insurance companies that so much of our 401k money is wrapped up in. Not to worry, none of those costs or windfall profits taxes will get passed down to us. That's just not how things work in an Obama changed world.
5. Jobs. Somebody explain Exactly what BO (or any other president for that matter) is going to do to create jobs. Politicians can talk about it all they want, but getting the federal government out of peoples' wallets and business is what stimulates the economy and creates jobs. Why can't the Dems who claim to be so much smarter than me understand that simple concept?
I'll let you add more points to illustrate how bad off we are, Col.
No, it's not the smart ones voting for BO's trumped up bullcrap media rockstar juggernaut of change, it's the brainwashed ones. The ones who believe in their liberal champions who tell us how we should live while they live the rich fat cat life they constantly vilify.
Can anyone claiming to be smart honestly believe Ted Kennedy, a stalwart of the Democratic party, truly gives a rat's hiney about poor people? The man is filthy stinking rich. Their newest hero BO by his own definition is a rich man. If they really honestly cared, why haven't these 2 along with the Hollywood liberals given huge chunks of their millions to the government?
The smart ones are wising up and voting BO eh? Right.
I think she has bigger genitalia than BO.
If you read my post DH I never said conservatives were any less intelligent than liberals. I just inferred that any intelligent american is not satisfied with our current administration and the direction that they have guided our country. Any change in administration now is welcome. Next time I will add some illustrations so you can better understand what I am trying to say. That way you won't immediately jump to conclusions based on your own mis-interpretation of my post. Maybe that will save you the effort of writing an entire page post that ammounts to what I just flushed down the toilet - actually your post would have required a double flush and some spray.
Good idea draw some pictures next time so I can understand you better. You "inferred" that unless you vote for CHANGE (thinly disguised codespeak for Barack Obama, the most liberal candidate ever to run for President) you're not very smart. I know what you meant, and so do you. At least have the cajones to stand by what you say instead of backpedaling when confronted.
Now Col 'inferring' that my post is solid waste is not very nice. Next time you feel that mean streak coming on ask yourself WWBD. What Would Barack Do?
Triple flush brother and spray some CHANGE in the air while your at it.
Ain't this fun?
Just finished watching tonight's DNC coverage. The slickster was good, very good. Bill Clinton may be shrewdest politician I've ever seen. My hat is off to him. I bet it'd be fun to have a beer or two and party with ole Willy.
Biden came off less impressive, but sincere and likeable. IMO he did an adequate job. He did make a little war talk which didn't go off so well in a convention center full Dems, but they seemed okay with it. Then again you could wrap a skunk in a suit, and those people would embrace it long as it came with the Obama package.
BO showed up and made few comments so he wouldn't be overshadowed by Clinton. It'll be interesting to see if his campaign gets the big bounce in the polls everyone is talking about.
