I'm not voting for Obama, but I don't understand all the name calling, capitalizing his middle name, etc. Is acting like children supposed to be a tactic from Republicans to keep him from being elected?

I thought Obama gave a great speech last night. He really seemed to be playing to those on the fence. I can't wait for some debates. I am willing to bet he can put it to john SIDNEY mccain in a debate. We will see. I like the Biden/Obama team more than I though I would.

Yes Know1, there are some rough things on here, I'm certainly one of the guilty ones. Childish to you maybe, but I believe most on here enjoy trading a few backhanded swipes. You obviously don't engage in that sort of thing, and that's fine.

Okay, Bo's speech last night described in a sentence. Barack Obama promised to solve EVERY single problem this country has.

Name any malady in the U.S. or the entire world for that matter, and he's going to fix it. Never mind many of those terrible problems, such as the economy exist only in the minds of Democrats. He's going to fix Washington,the energy crisis, the economy, education, poverty, provide health insurance for those who don't have it while cutting premiums for those who do, stop farm and housing foreclosures, eliminate the terrorist threat, take care of veterans, properly equip the military, restore America's 'standing' in the world, stop genocide in other countries, reverse climate change, and various other ailments I didn't even know we had.

Pretty impressive you say? Here's the kicker, he's going to do all this, AND CUT the taxes of 95% of the working families. I wasn't able to keep track of how many times he said the word CHANGE, but it was a bunch of them, plenty enough to supply the stadium full of syncophants on hand for the lovefest with 55 gallon drums of kool aid.

BO is a brilliant speaker with a ton of presence and magnetism. Like Slick Willy, he could sell swimsuits to the Eskimos, so selling his schtick to Democrats is child's play.

You are right it will be impossible for him to accomplish all that. For one thing he will get too much opposition from the very people that have us in this mess in the first place. Can he do any of it I really don't know but I for one am willing to give him a chance. It certainly takes more than a Barrack Obama or a John McCain to pull our ass out of the many fires we are in. We are all agrrement on what is broke just not on how to fix it. It probably will never happen but it sure would be nice to have some cooperation on both sides for a term or too. But alas it won't happen because of all parties concerned are wanting their names to go down in history. It won't happen because of greed, both parties are concerned about making so much money they lose site of the working men and women that pay the taxes in the first place. I really am ameazed when I read that some of the Democrats that backed Hillary are now going to vote for McCain . This seems like such a batch of crap. Not because they vote for McCain but because of the differences of the two, so they had no convictions in the first place. This seems so childish. I just hope and pray for my kids and my grandkids sake whoever gets it can stop the train and put it on a straighter track..

I leave tomorrow for Quetico for 9 days no politics, no nothing but my best friend, Jack Daniels , Fuente Maduros and hopefully many LARGE smallmouth

Michael, a whole lot of this stuff we do on here is light hearted attempts at humor. There is no real hate fueled malice behind it, just getting a jab in at our fishing bro's that don't see eye to eye with us. Lighten up dude it's all in fun. Actually Col is quite fun to poke at and he takes it well and gives back as good as he recieves. The only time I kinda get my panties in a bunch is when PL and Moose get going on that puke they spread. I've been guilty of getting carried away, no question, but I try to keep it civil. When I do get out of sorts just overlook me as I get a bit excited sometimes, lol.

I too can't wait for the debates, maybe we can finally hear specifics on how BO is going to fulfill his promises. No teleprompter, just he and his opponent. I believe that's where BO will be seriously overmatched, and he knows it. After all, if he were so anxious for debate why hasn't he already taken McCain up on his offer to do so? However, the results will depend on who you listen to, BO is a mass media rockstar who can do no wrong.

Joe, I disagree things are that all fired horrible in America. The country is not in the sorry shape politicians eager for office would have you believe. Unemployment is at 5%, and recent figures show the economy not to be the abysmal mess the Democrats claim. No terrorist attacks here since 9/11 under the bad ole Bush administration. Iraq finally appears under control. BO and Joe would have us believe the country is sinking beneath the waves, and they are the only lifeline. I just ain't buyin' it. Enjoy your trip, and good fishing.

Comon Devil Horse with out Gov aid like food stamps, welfare, med for illegals I would not have a job to feed my family and to fish and buy beer. LOL . This whole pres race seems too Scripted at times like a movie of the week or HBO special, all the qlits, glam, and fighting. It all seems like American Idol now, but maybe that is what the people want as we all are so influnenced by TV and entertainment that that is what we look for, WHo will be the Next American Idol, the final two Obama and McCain head to head.

When you do what I do for a living you see the world differentally it's all politics and popularlty , It is not " it's not what can your country can do for you ,it's what you can do for your country" anymore. And it is not a perfect world either and no one man, neither O'Bama or MCcain, can change it. IT takes all of our so called leaders to unite and think what is best as our nation as a whole instead of their pockets and own intrests, both dem's and repub,s, as I have said many times before are to blame for this mess, and the war. The thing about this country is that fantasy and fear can get you elected to office. It has always been the political fight, One party wants to rule via fantasy the other fear. The only thing that can fix things is logic and common sense and neither party is showing that.
