    auto inflate PFD thoughts

open my front deck hatch to find my cabelas PFD had fired, i know its water dry where it was lying, but here on the dock the last few days (dale) its been a continuous light shower ..... so are they inclined to inflate with a high moisture air being stored inside but not in an air tight container?

suggestions, is the gas cylinder a one shot deal?

One shot. You need to re-arm

found mine the same way a couple months ago. the auto inflate works because of the pill that holds back the firing pin desolves.

high moisture in my dry storage. caused by opening the dry storage to get something out while it was raining. just a little rain inside the storage then a couple of hot - humid days will desolve the pill.

    and yes it's a one shot co2.

not that expensive unless it gets to be habit. about $18 for the whole kit.
    for my vest.

I never store them in boat. When the weather gets hot and humidly they will fire. I put in truck at end of fishing and lay on a table in garage when I get home. If you wear them in heavy rain, unfold them when you get home or they will more than like fire. I have a buddy that had his on and it stated to rain, he put on a jacket over top of it and guess what-- it fired. Anytime closed up with high humidity they will pop. I really like mine but have to be careful.

They are one shoot deals you will need a rearming kit. Mine did this what i have found is if it has gottin wet or if you are out at night with a heavy dew is to hang it up in the house or in the garage if the rain or dew is heavy and you lay it in the storage box and the water can run down to the pill and set it off. If you do not have a pill in your then the co2 was old they say to replace every 2 years on the co2. hope this will help.
