She seems nice and is very attractive, fish's, hunt's loves the outdoors, but can she lead the country, remember she could be ONE HEARTBEAT away from bening the leader of the frre world, MCain is not a spring chicken, he is now 72, not knocking age at all, I will be there someday sooner than later, but this is a BIG choice. It brings legit concern's, What are they playing off the story line from that show "Comander in Chief" ? Seems like a tv show againg, MCain playing like Hugh Hefiner, a very attractive and smart running mate and a hot wife how own's a beer distriburship. a true readnecks dream, LOL LOL ,that part is not to be taken in offence... But seriously, this needs some thinking thru. If MCain wanted a woman running mate, he could have picked one with more experiance, or he could have chose Rudy and he could have dressed for the part,LOL.

Oh come on now...she has more experience under her belt than Barry when it comes to potentionally running a country. She is a Governor not a stand by Senator. She has legit experience in dealing with real people not high and mighty lawmakers. She can't hide behind decisions like Barry has with his "present" votes that he is so famous for. We will see how tough her skin is because they are already tearing her apart! I'm sure it will backfire on the Libs because she is a "Super Mom "and even has a special needs baby that noone will even get close too pulling in the political ring...

You bet she's qualified. Look at her record it's unreal what all she's done in a short period of time. She is exactly the kind of change and fresh way of thinking this country needs. She's no push over either and will stand her ground if challenged. The more I read about her the more I like her, a real honest to goodness hardworking person with solid ideas and values. She also has a 80% plus approval rating as Gov. in Alaska. A rating that high for any politician is almost unheard of these days. They are probably tree huggers, lol.

OK, shes a great mom,a hunter and fisher, but when it comes to certain parenting skills, I'll take a pass! I was broght up to believe it was love marriage and children, thats what we as parents impressed on our kids.I have a son who is a single parent raising a teen age daughter. He gave up a mid six figure salary to be able to be with and raise his daughter to respect those values, this is sort of a kick in the teeth to many parents in that same situation, and the stigma attached to a little mis behaving is now deminished.Where were they? What were they doing? Sure were not supposed to be personal, except when it comes to conservative values.

    Re: Sarah Palin

My cousin for years has raised a downs syndrome child, quit a high paying job to give the kid all the care she could, is she mother of the year, no just responsible, and doing what she was taught to do. Nancy reagan was touted as heroic, becausde her husband had alziemers, and she made great sacrifices staying with him and caring for his well being. My mom had the same thing, was i a hero, or just some dumb shmuck, who went int6o a financial hole bringing her to live with us, buying her and furnishing a safer habitat for her to be safe and secure. No it was something that I was brought up believing that we have responsibilitys to our loved ones. But it dopnt count because I guess I'm just a liberal.

Larry are you drunk today, what the crap are you talking about anyway. O.K, alright you were a good guy Larry what does that have to do with this woman being qualified to run our country. I don't intend to be mean here but sometimes you lose me??? If you are referring to her daughter being pregnant, that has happened to many a good folk out there and should not in any way sway voters, it's NOT relevant. Even the great Messiah, Barry said it should not even be talked about again, and you know that's about the only thing I've agreed with that man on yet. Maybe you should run for office Larry you seem to have it all figured out.

    Larry,
Getting personal with who Palin is works in my book, I don't care because I look at that with these candidates. Doesn't mean I decide based upon that but I still look at it.
So now you know the daughter made some mistakes but if you REALLY think a parent is going to be next to their daughter every single minute of the day your off base. So just chalk it up to lesson learned with nothing to hide and move on. The libs tried to smear Cheney with his Lesbian daughter and you see how that worked huh?
Now look at Barry. Why is it that he is personnally associated with terrorists and hate mongers? He did try and hide that stuff and or sweep it under the rug for a long time. Does that bother you? It should because it's more important than a baby that is being raised by a single mother and a loving family. Libs....tsk tsk

    Re: Sarah Palin

I'm a liberal, and yes, I like Sarah Palin, but if you want to compare VP candidates and their competency to serve as President, I don't think she's in the same league as Joe Biden. He's been Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee for how long now? I know he's been on it close to 30 years, and I think he's been Chairman most of that time. In a speech on September 10, 2001, Biden argued that the Bush administration's focus on missile defense had diverted out attention from more likely threats. The new threat to the United States, he said, "would not come from an inter-continental ballistic missile with a return address" but in "the belly of a plane" or from a "vial smuggled in a backpack or a bomb in the hold of a ship." Where was Sarah Palin on 09/10/2001? Had she even been elected mayor yet?

But really, I think history shows that the second name on the ticket isn't all that important. People generally vote based on the Presidential candidate, not the VP. But, to be honest, I think she'd make a better President than either McCain OR Obama. Too bad she and Biden can't team up. Of the four (McCain, Obama, Palin, and Biden), those are the two I'd most like to see in office.

I can agree with you on Biden's experience of Foreign Relations. But he has not run any type of Town Government, State Government has he. He's not dealt with any type of Military decisions by himself like Palin has as Gov.

Plain and simple she has more experience in Government with being a prior Mayor and also Governor....than the 143 day wonder the Democrats are trying to elect into office....

Wake up and smell the coffee Democrats and those who are the fence of voting for the Republicans now or not..... Best combo to elect into office at least both have the vast experience to deal with anything that might arise while in office.

    Re: Sarah Palin

The thing I see about Palin being on the McCain ticket is that even though she is new she will pull alot of female voters that were on the fence. Sure the die hard Dem women won't change but consider the young women, college women and young mothers. These women will get sick and tired of the Dem bashing on Palin and her daughter and Palins special needs child. That party is going to shoot themselves right in the foot on Palin.

Being a voter in this election doesn't mean you know the issues or that you have a thought on what you really want so don't assume only "educated" voters vote. Alot of votes are based on the party/candidates they can relate too and that is what will decide this election. JMO
