    200 EFI alarm

i have a mercury 200 efi....the alarm goes off four beeps every two minutes....the manual says this could be water in the seperating fuel filter or the emergency oil reservoir is low...i have checked both of these....the oil reservoir is level full and the fuel filter had no water in it...i then disconnected the sensors from both and the alarm still goes off water pressure gauge looks good and it is "peeing" good...any ideas?...thanks in advance for any replies.... Andy

Check the Merc board on bassboatcentral.com that should get you a quick answer. I have the 200 but have not had that experience with it. Please post back what you find out for future reference. Good luck

Do you have the oil reservoir that is under the cowling? I do on my 225---just didn't know if a 200 does too? If it's low, the light or beeper will sound. Also if the sensor is bad, it will beep. I had to replace mine---not expensive and also not hard to replace.

    Re: 200 EFI alarm

I don't know much about the 200's but I know alot about my Merc 225. I have done 90% of the work on this motor myself. My engine runs the warning buzzers through one of the computers. I have had the buzzer and/or lights go off and it has always been for a problem other then the computer. I don't believe you have just a "module" for that beeper.
I would definitely talk on some of the other boards and get some expert help. Engine parts can get VERY VERY expensive. Good Luck with it.
I am going to check my 225 Service workshop manual and see if I can find any other info for you.

Yep---225 workshop manual says the same thing. Says water in fuel will beep 4 tmies with 1 second intervals and stop for 2 minute time periods.

If I were you, I would just replace the fuel/water seperater filter, mainly becuase it may need one and it also comes with a new sensor. They are only about $20.

    Good Luck.
