Day 2 RNC
Rudy was brilliant, he lit the crowd up and further attested to McCain's record and character. I loved his analogy of making a voting decision based on the candidates' resumes. I laughed out loud when after 'reading' McCain's resume, he looked at BO's imaginary resume in his hand and said "Community organizer....what?"
Then Sara Palin stepped to the podium. Woah son did she wear it out! Even the talking heads at CNN didn't immediately say anything negative, except CNN's Dem press agent, David Gurgen of course. Wolfie boy said a star was born. Not a word was said on CNN or Fox about Rudy's speech which was brilliant, they were too busy discussing Palin's main course to talk about Rudy's salad. Best tag line (paraphrased): Some politicians use change to promote their careers, and some use their careers to promote change.
I'm a competitive person by nature, and if an opponent steps up with that look in her eyes and her jaw set like that, I'm saying to myself: Ah crap, this one's gonna be tough. Folks, the NY Times, CNN, Washington Post, liberal bloggers, and the rest of the low life muckrakers can fire away, this gal is for real. Win or Lose, Sara Palin is going to kick your ass and make you like it.
I've watch most of both conventions, and there is no comparison. The Clintons went through the motions and did what they had to do for their party, Biden gave an adequate speech and came off pretty well, BO made a good speech and promised to fix virtually every problem afflicting mankind, but the DNC just wasn't very dynamic. The RNC speakers have outdone themselves, and their is true enthusiasm.
Are the Dems worried? Well BO's going to be on Bill O'Reilly's show tonight, that tell you anything?
