i was wondering if anybody knows if they sell live shad or skipjack at the baitshops at cumberland

Not that I know of. Shiners are about all you can get around here.

Shiners still work

Shiners are all you will find at the local bait shops now. A few have tried to carry shad over the years, but haven't had a lot of luck with it. Shiners will work, but not as well. Jigs and spoons pulled behind downriggers are working very well right now.

Give them a call. If I recall, some guides store bait in his bait shop by the motel and on occassion he has some to spare.
