I was doing ok and getting better until Sunday the 14th when I started hurting more and my wound started smelling of infection. My home health nurse came Monday morning early to change my wound vac and the second she took it off she called 911 and had an ambulance on the way to the house to take me back to UK. My wound had busted open and was spitting out infection that was getting sucked up into the vac. It was not pretty. Spent last Mon thru Fri in UK and they had to put in a drain tube in behind my mesh because I have 2 pockets of infection, 1 on the outside of the mesh that was the one that busted open my wound again and another behind my mesh that had not busted out yet so they put in a tube and left it in to drain out the infection. I still have the tube in and it will stay in until next tuesday at least when I see the doc again. I was released Friday night and have been home since. Still lots of pain and lots of pills to be taken daily so we will have to sit and wait to see what happens next. First time I got on line in weeks or would have answered sooner. Not feeling very good so got to go. Thanks for asking Steve. Elnut

Man, thats a tough recovery with one step forward and two steps back. We are still thinking of you and sending in the prayers. Hang in there!

Stay strong Elwood..it'll take time but the mend will happen sooner than you know it....I know all about them open wounds that have to heal from the inside out...Man do I......

Just got off the phone with Elwood. He seems really down from all his struggles. He is such a fighter though. It's tough to see the positives in all this when it all keeps going wrong. He and Krista and family need our prayers.

Elnut you just can't get a break. Keep your chin up we need you fishing so we can read your post on the Hollow. Let me know if I can do anything.
