    Thumbs down Gas prices.....Why?

Alright the price per barrel of crude as plummeted 30% since the end of July. Why has gas stayed at 3.65 or higher per gallon. Someone smarter than me please explain to me why this isn't price gouging????????

We get shafted in Louisville. The price was $3.85 this morning. Head 20mi out of town and its like 30-40cents cheaper. Not too fun.

I have family and friends in many similiar cities like Indy, Nashville, Cinci, and B'ham and it always seems when we talk gas prices, its always the highest in Louisville.

Try 3.75 now, I heard that people were being told to fill up before this weekend (Ike) so they went on and raised the price.

What I don't get is the wide varation in prices from one city to another and I would assume it's the same gas supplier for each city.

Here's a quick recap of a story I heard from a reliable source about raising gas prices.

A guy that works at a well established place that sells gas received a call to raise their prices and see if everyone would follow them. And of course after they raised their prices everyone else raised theirs also.

Also Exxon Mobile posted the largest one year profit for a company in history.

Sounds like price gouging to me
