Yesterday was a banner day for BIG ones: My new grandson, Gabriel, was born yesterday morning and weighed in at a whopping 8lbs 8oz and we put the biggest Smallie of the year so far in my boat yesterday at a little over 7lbs...life is good!!

Thanks folks!! Should have mentioned, I caught the smallie on a c-rigged Charmer timber pup in green pumpkin....have had a number of big fish on that bait over the past month or so. I remember at least 2 7lb LM's, 2 6lb LM's and a number of 5's and 4's LM...also a couple of over 4lb SM"s. I have a pic but not very good of the 7lb SM....will have pics for all you guys coming to see me in the near future.

Sound like both are keepers. I have three grandchildren 2 years, 6 years and 12 years old. If I had it to do over I would skip the children and go straight to the grand kids they are great just like the old brown bass is the greatest.
