I've been having some success with these baits. I found some weighted Gammy hooks I really like and or a exposed jig hook. Make long casts and slow retrieve back, don't over work them it's not necessary. Keep throwing'em the fish will come.

How many guys here are going to throw swimbaits this fall. What are your favorite tecniques in fall using these. I am going to try and learn how to use them, bought some 4" models, and need to get a general idea if they are worth using, and different tecniques to try. Thanks for any help you can give me, lord knows I need it, I tried them this spring without so much as a nibble.

Theyre worth it, caught my first 7+ fish on one this summer. I think its going to majic this fall around groups of shad. Earlier this year during the shad spawn i was havin three and four's chokin on my swimbaits. There probably isnt a wrong way to work one either. Everybrand is different
I use them in the Ohio River for hybrid/stripers usually mostly white pre rigged.
One day this spring a fellow came up next to me,tied on a new 4" trout colored,
the first cast he landed a 3 1/2 lb smallmouth.

I throw the 5-6" Storm livin eye or what ever they are called swim baits at the falls and do real well with the striper and hybrids. I dont really retrieve it, rather I just keep my line tight and reel just enough to keep the bait upright and let the current take it down. The big boys love the big baits!
