For the record I didn't call you an elitist, I said the tactics of scorn were favored by them. I like to dance good as the next guy, but try to avoid directly calling people names.

None of us are going to really change others' fundamental beliefs or minds that are already made up, but it is a lot of fun to have heated debates about it.

Now back to the issue at hand.

I'm tired of Ivy League educated politicians with the New England Yankee mentality deciding how the country should be run. Sara Palin is the true change, BO's mantra is basically just hollow rhetoric. The woman performed a marriage ceremony for a couple of associates at freakin Wal Mart for cryin out loud! Now THAT is my kind of politician. Someone who can truly relate to common people as opposed to super rich lawyers who just talk about it.

Barack Obama is a rich socialist (borderline communist) politician who will tell you anything you want to hear. I may be a fool for believing it, but Palin is for real. Cynical as I am, I'm more excited about her than anyone since Ronald Reagan. That she hunts, fishes, and is a damned fine looking woman is just icing on the cake.

Futhermore how naive do you have to be to believe heavily taxing the companies we all work for, the oil companies we all buy gas from, and redistributing the wealth of the rich is the answer? If you hit the lotto, do you want BO to leave you maybe 250k or so and take the rest for the government to spend? Answer that one for me honestly.

Let's say you bust your hiney for years and finally start making some serious money only to find you're in a 45 or 50% tax bracket. Yes, the federal government is going to take YOUR money that you earned fair and square, waste most of it, and give the rest to other people. Do you honestly believe this country will remain great under that kind of system? If so, take a minute and explain how that can be.

IMO Obama is peddling socialism, a concept that has been proven again and again to fail. I don't get why that is so hard for people on the BO bandwagon to understand.

Glad to see you took the time and tried to watch that video and maybe see why it got me a little bent out of shape.

Anyway who is the Ivy League educated politicians with the New England Yankee mentality that your talking about running the country? Bush in office for 8 years (yeah he went to Harvard but that is a joke), Clinton in office for 8 years before that,I don't really see either of them fitting your description. Bush was supposed to be the good ol' boy you could relate to and look how that's turned out.

Did you just write if you hit the lotto? You usually come with better stuff than this.

Your paying taxes now I would assume but you talk like Obama has invented this new super secret plan to take all you money away that nobodys ever heard of. And for your info you would need to be in around the top 5% of the income bracket for the plan Obama has.

So let the rich get richer because that's what happens you know. The rich never have enough money in their eyes and that's where greed takes over.

    Pontooner,
I knew it would come out at some point, you are so worried about the rich and what they pay in taxes. Thats typical Liberal thinking why don't you research what they pay now and think about what it would be like to have a entire political party after you.

Attack the rich! Pitty the poor! We all need to be equal even those people who decided not to work hard and sacrifice like alot of us have done....yeah right!

The Libs remind me of what I see when a bunch of kids get together be it baseball, basketball or the playground. There is always a kid or two who wants everything the others have and will cry until they get it. They might not have worked for it or deserved it but because things need to be equal they get it without working for it.

WOW! Now I know how to pick the future Libs out of a crowd when they are young! Thats why Col Forbin teaches he is trying to get to them all turned at that young age....**grin**....

Re: Palin on the Charlie Gibson interview

Pontooner, you just don't get it. Admirable dodge on the lotto question, couldn't help but notice you didn't answer it. Or several others for that matter. Weak, very weak.

    I'll answer yours anyway.

Bill Clinton, Georgetown University with a Rhoades scholarship to Oxford University in England. Yale University Law degree. (I forgot how smart old Willie is, no wonder he can pull the wool over people's eyes so easy. I still stand by my assertion that I'd like to hang out and have a few suds with him, that would be fun. I'd make sure my wallet and my wife was hid though.)

Do some research and see how many politicians are lawyers. It's the foxes guarding the henhouse. BO is just another Columbia educated lawyer with communist leanings. Not so with McCain and Palin.

Why is it the rich are seen as greedy when they want more money, and the rest of us who also want more money are just trying to get by? A scary thing these days is the number of people who seem to feel the rich owe them something, they feel perfectly justified in taking what isn't theirs.

The mentality that people or corporations who are successful are evil, and should be punished is directly attributable to Democratic Party candidates, and those who support them.

I'll try yet again to pound a simple concept into your head: You cannot punish the achievers by taking what they've made and providing for the masses. It doesn't work. Let me say it again slow IT...DOESN'T...WORK. How many socialist/communist governments do we have to see fail before we realize that?

You had to mention education. Actually, I am in special education - so I am surrounded more with future republicans than liberals. LOL (Just kidding of course I mean no disrespect to the kids I work with).

Re: Palin on the Charlie Gibson interview

Devils Horse, I dodged you question? Come on, "If you win the lotto the goverment is going to take such and such" It's the lotto, if you were lucky enough to win it and had the audacity to complain about getting $250k minus the $3 ticket it cost, I think most people would find that rather funny. I don't play the lottery so if the $3 ticket price is off feel free to correct my math.

I'm suprised you would feel Clinton fit your critera, sure he went and got a good education but he had a meager southren up bringing and worked for what he got.

Speaking of dodging questions, I didn't see a responce about Bush being the highly educated, good ol' boy, I can relalte to him and how that's panned out.

You talk about people busting their butts to make money and this and that but if someone bust their butt to get a good education you look down on them. Why?

Poverty is a real prolem in this country whether you choose to see it or not. What do you do with/to the children that are born into it and have no say?

Let's not forget the working poor here. They are in a serious bind right now and I know people that have had to swallow their pride and get goverment assistance because they had no other choice. If taking more money out of someones pocket that can afford it (yes can afford it) is what it takes to try and get this situation turned around the I'm fine with it, until you or McCain come up with a better plan.
