I was on Barren, it was very interesting. The fish were biting though.

I was on Barren as well...we got blown all over.....very scary at times...rollers were in the 5 / 6 feet on main lake!!! I did hear that a bass boat did go down ...too Davy Jones locker!!!....We were the last to leave the state dock!!! We had 3 just over 15 inches and two nice slots!!! We left at 4:30pm I saw a water-spout back in Peters Creek that was the size of a car!!! Very scary...never seen anything like it in my life. If you can imagine a "dust devil" times 10...It was so stong..that water was lefting out in the air, the size of a basketball..and 4 feet high!!! At first...I thought a fish was doing some top water busting...but when It came twords the boat...from 50 yards out...and kept coming! I took a knee in the boat...but it went just 10 yards from us and kept right on going till it was out of sight!!! Unreal. We were zipped and clipped...any time the motor was running. But from my understanding...the wind on Barren...was nothing like what hit Louisville and other places more west???

Oh yeah, Louisville got hammered. Most of the neighborhoods all over the county look like war zones. Trees are down along with electric wires and poles. A great deal of homes are missing shingles. I was without electric service for 24 hours. I feel lucky. Many will be without service for several days including my parents. In all nearly 300,000 customers without power. Winds were gusting up to 80+ mph at Standiford Field (airport).

Who says you have to live on the coast to experience a hurricane, lol. Well at least the winds to some degree. Be safe everyone and also drive carefully. Many traffic lights are still out, and apparently some people have forgot how to negotiate a 4-way stop.

I live in Northern Kentucky. In the greater Cinti area, 950,000 are without electric. We are 15 miles south of Cinci and have been without electric since Sunday and according to Duke Energy, we won't have electric until Saturday, the 20th. Since we don't have electric we don't have water either. We have a cistern with an electric pump. So I am having to go out with a 5 gallon bucket and pull water up from the cistern to wash dishes, take a bath, etc.
We are having problems just finding ice to keep food cold.
