    I'm not a hatin dude!
The way I read this ad was it included the map package. If it doesn't I stand corrected. I too have "won" things in the past that I did not need or even want. I that case I have sold them on E-bay for sometimes half of the msrp.
If those who think $900 is a deal then they should be jumping on your "sale".
    I for one do not.
Good luck and I hope you get your price. Lord knows all of use could use an extra $900 today. It might allow us to go fishing 2 or 3 more times.

Was wondering the same thing. Would the larger screen be worth the money ?

Im happy with it, but i havnt been spoiled by a bigger screen yet either lol, i only scan one side of the boat at a time so im sure a bigger screen would be plenty helpful.

the size is only worth time on the water, its all about detail and the amount your screen can hold, my 997 can scan 300' (i think) but i have found when you condense 300', my 997 is not big enough, were as 100' on both sides is practicle. if you have alot of time to scan, you don't need a larger screen, you just need to scan 100-150' per pass and make more passes.

heres a way to look at it, what you save on a less expensive unit, you can easily spend in gas. its like paying more for a more fuel efficent car, at first the more expensive puts you at a loss, but it will pay for itself in time... the detail level is the same on all of the units, but the larger units have "more detail" when looking at the same amount of water... here is an estimate of mine, you will get the same picture from a 797 covering 100' as a 997 covering 150', again that is just a guess but should be close... as far a 1197 goes, i haven't had the pleasure of using one although i will in the near future... i hope to see at least 200' in good clarity

summary: you get what you pay for

A larger screen would always be a good thing but I did not have the money to spend on it. I retired here in KY from the military and do not have that type of money. Also I am not used to fishing deep lakes as I came from NC and the lakes we fish are no deeper than 25'. Not knowing the lakes here I wanted something I could use to find the structure in these reserviors. Having two screens the same size does not distort my vision going from console to bow.

i forgot to mention this in my last post... if you buy humminbird unit and don't want to buy a counterpart for the bow, which would also include an interlink and some more money, buy a ram gimble mount. if mounted properly, you can mount at the console so you can side scan while you are idling, then rotate the unit around so you can use the map to troll to your spots that you marked... the gimble mount is affordable and is worth its weight in gold if you can't afford a unit to mount on the bow.. installation is not hard, it just requires 4 bolts and about 30 minutes
