Cumberland 9/17

fished today for 5hrs on the upper end and boated 8 with my partner. 4 keepers - 1 smallie pushing 5# and another 3.5#, a largemouth 4# and a 12 in spot. mixed bag today but all came on jig. water temps 80 and mild stain around shoreline cover noted. will try to post pix of the 2 smallies from my camera phone as i forgot my regular camera. expectations were low so this was a very pleasant surprise. it was an absolutely beautiful day BESIDES the fish. cumberland is going to be fantastic for the fall!

I am considering heading there myself this weekend, so thanks for the report. Were the fish on the main lake or in the creeks yet?

as noted, it was a pleasant surprise. do not catch many smallies on upper end and certainly not the size that i have caught mid and lower lake. very nice day! i have said it before, the longer they keep the water steady on big c, the better and better it is fishing. gave a tip to a friend that fished yesterday and he boated 6 in 3 hrs with 2 keeper largemouths at 16 and 18inches respectively. make some time for the fall bite here on cland, it should just get better and better. still trying to figure out how to get pix from camera phone to the site as i have pix of the 2 smallies from wed.
