Unfortunately, IF THEY VOTE, all too many people just vote for the party hack.

Maybe we need for the sky to fall in so that enough people will get involved and vote so that we can vote the "greedy" politicians OUT and vote someone with our interest IN. As I said, SOMEONE IS VOTING FOR THESE PEOPLE and if the majority don't like them then they need to VOTE.

Actually, I think the real problem is that those of us that do vote...only get a choice of those politicians that have already sold their souls to the special interests groups. The only "cure" for this as I see it and have been preaching for many many years is to do away with all special interest group monies. Limit the amount of money that can be spent on campaigns. Hell, the government could set standards for a qualifying party and candidate and give them this certain amount of money and that is all you get to spend, with any monies left over at the end of the campaign going back to the government. The FCC could demand that tv and radio time be free and limited to each qualifying candidate and that each qualifying candidate would be given equal amounts of air time. They do it now with public service announcements. If they did it this way we would see who is best at managing the monies and everyone running for office would be given the same equal opportunity to get their message across...without having to spend their time in office paying back the special interest groups for the monies etc...they received. Obviously, the candidate with the most unpaid volunteers, management abilities and hard work ethic would probably be the one that comes to the forefront when it comes time for us to vote.

Imagine...a candidate that comes FROM the people, works FOR the people, being voted in by the PEOPLE....instead of a candidate that is BOUGHT by the special interest groups, WORKS for the special interest groups and given to the PEOPLE as their choice of candidate.

I would be all for this type of free election if anyone can come up with a way of taking back our elections....maybe when we all get sick and tired enough of being told what to do, when to do it and pay for it too, something along these lines will happen.

Fire'em all and let God sort'em out. Then we'll just start from scratch. Every last stinking rich one of them are crooks pure and simple, and I mean every last one of them to.

I own two houses in two different states and pay utility bills on both; have seen them steadily climb over the past year or so. I'm burned up over that gawdawful cable TV-internet bill. Am working to settle two estates and have to make trips to my other home, 1,000 miles round trip, and have already spent over $1,700 for gasoline alone and that was before it hit $4.75/gal.

Here's a new twist on the gasoline fiasco. Thieves in Hawkins and surrounding counties in TN have hit several businesses and individuals and drained their gas tanks. They crawl under the vehicle and make a hole about the size of a nickel and drain all the gas out into an unknown type of container. Some believe an oil catch pan (that doesn't hold much), a camper/motor home type portable septic tank, or whatever. They take the amount the container will hold and the rest just spills out on the ground. It even happened to a vehicle parked at the front door of Wal-Mart in Rogersville. Sounds like the catalytic converter thieves doesn't it. If you see someone working under a vehicle, don't assume they are having car trouble or that they own the car. Hang around for a few minutes and get the license plate number of the vehicle they LEAVE in and call the police.

The thing that breaks my heart most, is to go grocery shopping and see faces that show obvious stress as poor and elderly people, on low or fixed incomes, try to find something affordable to eat. I hear their sighs and moans as they look at the prices of items, set them back on the shelf and move on. I actually heard of an elderly woman buying tuna flavored cat food to eat. I've also heard they're buying dog food made of beef or chicken to eat. In AMERICA?!! I can recommend a good place for our lawmakers to make some changes.

    The sky IS falling.
