    Re: VP Debate Tonight

Bobby, once again you say she lacks the qualifications to be a heartbeat away from president.

Once again I'll point out she is far more qualified than Barack Obama to be president. She is also more qualified from an executive leadership perspective than ANY of the candidates. Why do you make me keep saying this?

I disagree Biden talked straight, he sounded like the career politician he is. The kind of talk that instantly makes me think of the old joke. How can you tell if a politician is lying? His lips are moving.

You honestly believe Biden pumps his own gas up there in Scranton and chats with fellow customers all the while? Ah...don't think so. There were several other lies he told, veiled nicely in politico speak, but lies nonetheless. The ONLY reason I gave him a very slight edge in the debate was Palin didn't counter a couple of points well enough, certainly not because I believe what he said.

When Sara Palin talks, I believe it till somebody proves otherwise, when Joe Biden talks I assume it's a lie till somebody proves otherwise. She strikes me as genuine, he strikes me as a plastic east coast politician. She strikes me as a potentially great leader, he strikes me as a thinly disguised socialist. She's PART of the middle class they all harp about, running his mouth about them is close he gets to middle class. She performed a marriage ceremony for couple of Wal Mart Associates, he's probably been driven past Wal Mart by his chauffeur.

Sara Palin is us, Joe Biden is them. I could go on for hours...

I got sick of the maverick stuff though, she ran that into the ground along with her energy stuff. They both had some humorus moments, which was good for both parties. She did not give any great answers on some key issues and avoided some all together, Biden dodged some also, but she dodged more, she does not seem to me that she follows world events closley as well as some domestic issues, and also made a bad remark about the Castro Bro's, in context with Korea and Iran about evil dictators, Cuba is old news and Cuba is not the threat as it was, she should not have included them in that line, that comment showed that she is not current in world affairs. She is a respectable lady and a good Gov for Alaska, but she is not at all ready to be just a heart beat away from being PRESIDENT of the USA. This is not a reality show, this is real life.
I thought Biden explained very well when he said if he was VP he'd be Obama's lap dog/yes man. The way it sounds today that may be the only thing he was truthful about.

Cuba not a threat???Mr. Headrick are you up on the issues very well?

Palin the rookie crushed the 35yr. career politician.

    Re: VP Debate Tonight

I just love to rile you up Jim. I do admit that she does speak to the people in our langauge and is down to earth. But who is right and who is wrong, we will only know that answer in Nov. If times were a bit different then I could see her a VP and then Pres, but not at this time, the same goes for Obama, but to really have the exp needed you would have to be reelected as no one has been elected the first time was a pres before, so therefore NONE have the exp needed. And yes Time I am up on some issues and know the ties Cuba has with Venasuala and Russia. But Cuba is not the issue here now. Iran and Pakastin are what really needs worring about but Chavez needs to be watched very closley as he is amassing a lot of weapons for his country and look at it this way, he already has enough people in this country illegally that can amass a pretty good army so we need to watch this. Cuba has a part in this but I belive they are a smoke screen for Chavez. He is up to something as he is really stockpiling weapons and planes. Something else to think about.

    Re: VP Debate Tonight

Ever been to alaska, ask the folks up there about who she is, Her qualifications as a governor of a state that has a population of less than any major city in the lower 48.
McCain had not even met her when the RNC picked her for her looks and the snatch the Hilary votes aspect to me her public speaking is very good and she almost can make it sound sincere. For me her debate was more of a PSA for the energy companies of Alaska. As for MaCain I would have voted for him 4 years ago but he is a changed man he seems to be being lead around instead of leading. Now I have my views and you have yours. but to me it boils down to am I better off now than eight years ago. When I go to the VA hospital I see alot of disalusioned young men promised advisors when they got out that are left to wonder around the maze that most VA hospitals are. They have not got a clue what is due to them or how to ask for it and with the new privacy laws service orgasnizations can not contact them unless they ask to be. We have a run away budget we are in a mixed up war on two fronts actively and no telling how many we do not know about. We have surendered part of our consitutional rights out of fear. we are going to give a huge amount of money to private organizations who would forclose on our butts in a flash if we were half way as much in the hole that they are. You know Maverick was a cool western and a cool name for a jet jockey in a movie, but do we need a fancy cute nick name or do we need someone who is going to do what must be done and that is put America and Americans first. and for the lady wanting to drill for more oil, who is going to do the drilling the US Corp of engineers or private companies. Is this gas line public or private I live in KY and pay for Natural gas out of Houston TX. she looked good she spoke well but did either one give us an answer, I do not think so and as far as expanding the job of the VP she needs to read up on checks and balances. Of course I must have seen it on another channel if either canidate crushed the other one, it looked like a draw to me but how would I know I do not listen to the party reps after the debate I try to go by what I heard not what they told me I heard. Now you can take all that I have written and $5 and get a gallon of gas. but for me it has to change be it one party or the other and the best change would be for all of us to vote our hearts and then get involved in some small way.

    Re: VP Debate Tonight

You hit on a topic that I really wish was handled better and that is Military Veterans. When it comes right down to it and I know it might sound mean and coldhearted but I could care less if families who do nothing more than siphon off our big government teet each month and do nothing get another penny when our Vets who have served and or fought for our freedon get treated like they do.
McCain talks about caring for the Vets and maybe he does? But it won't matter or change until Vets become a talking point for the american people. It's a shame, with all the problems we have noone has answers, all we get are speeches and empty promises and because of how Seasoned Politicians have done us in the past (and my beliefs) I am voting for McCain/Palin. The seasoned pols instill fear into us of how this team can never lead and how she could never handle the job...well if the present state of our country is from experienced well qualified employees then I'm all for getting some new blood in there.
Maybe it should have been Ron Paul/Sarah Palin??
