Repaired Garmin GPS/Sonars

An on-line auction store is selling Garmin GPSChartplotter/Sonars for almost haf the regular price. They are listing them as NEW but they are actually repaired/reconditioned/refurbished (or whatever you call it) units which Garmin has taken back because of a defect then repaired them. They are listed as having a one year Garmin warrenty the same as a regualer unit. This is a good deal, IF THEY ARE TRUELY LIKE NEW AND ARE RELIABLE.

My question is have you ever had any trouble after buying FACTORY REPAIRED items, like GPSs,.sonars, fish finders, etc., that are sold at on-line auctions as NEW. I am tempted to buy this unit but I am a little leary about something that has been repaired one time and may need to be repaired again. However, it does have the same warrenty as a new unit, so Garmin must be standing behind it.

Any thoughts and/or experiences would be appreciated.

MEGAGPS.COM I purchased GPS for car (NUVI-200W) and it was refurbished. Has same warranty as new. No complaints.
