Re: Fellas, I'm asking for a favor

Well I'm back from Florida and things are going great down there. Dad is getting stronger and healing nicely. I'm ready to get that fishing bug in my head again. I did sit and talk with a fella in Marco island while he was catching Gray Snapper right at the dock and I watched him lose a HUGE Snook. I wanted to fish but I had no license and we were leaving that day. Anyway Dad is well and thanks again to all!
    It's good to be back.

Re: Fellas, I'm asking for a favor

First let me say THANKS for all your prayers and thoughts about my Dad and family. I just got back tonight from Florida and I am drained emotionally. Dad ended up with a new valve, a repaired valve and double bypass surgery. There were a few other procedures but I can't remember the names. His Carotid surgery went well and for all things considered he did the best we could expect. In the mornng he has to get a pace maker implanted since his heart can't do it alone.

We still have to see his Kidneys start working better, get the blood suger under control and the chest cavity tube get to the point were it is not needed. He is tough but has alot working against him. Can you believe that he has tested positive for MRSA which is a terrible staff infection? My understanding is that even though he tested positive it doesn't mean that he has the full blown version and actually the staff said it was fairly common? What do I know? I just hope they are right. This hospital just had a high school student pass away from it as well the week before I got there! So we had to wear gowns and gloves around him which was for safety but it made us feel a little disconected.

I'm headed down again next week because my Mom needs the support as much as he does. She said she could finally sleep with me there, it made her feel safe and I can understand what she means. The family needs to be there right now to support eachother.

BTW, just a reminder to all the men and women out there who are like me and have a tough time finding the time or telling their parents or loved ones that they love them...wake up because when they are gone that's one regret you don't want. They might know it but it's better to tell them, I have told my parents that for the first time in a long time and it was great. Those three little words speak volumes.

Again, thanks a million for the thoughts and prayers it warms the heart knowing people care. God Bless, Don
