Re: Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years

Please tell me you don't buy into that....he also has stated he is against concealed carry laws, wants to limit you to buying one gun a month and is for gun egistration...yeah, he is a real bastion for the second ammendment! This from the same guy who said that people cling to guns and religion because they are better.

Also, if you use the link I posted above you will see where he had a "slip of tongue" when he commented about his "Muslim Faith." He didn't catch himself instead George Stepalloverus had to correct him!
Concealed Carry-you are correct, I believe I did read that on factcheck.org that he voted for this bill. I disagree with this part of his policy.

Limit to buying one gun a month-Wrong, one handgun a month is correct. I'm actually fine with this, as I don't see why anyone would need to buy more than 1 handgun a month (unless you're a collector, in which case, this is terribly unfair to you, I agree).

Gun registration-Again, I have no problem with this. I think guns should be registered. It just promotes more responsible use of firearms.

I'm not saying he's a bastion for second amendment rights, just that he's not going to come to your door and try to take your hunting rifle.

As far as his faith, I really don't know. All I can do is take his word for it, much the same as I can take your word for your faith.

We all might want to keep an eye on this situation =
    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081011/ap_on_el_pr/rezko_spilling_the_beans;_ylt=Akd.82fRkpTBh.dCLMA2 zVhH2ocA

As far as someone coming to my house to take my rifle (well you know the old saying about prying it from my cold dead fingers),on the other hand every small cut into gun owners rights is a another step closer to what these far left nutjobs want.I just feel that people are so hornswaggled into getting rid of Bush, that they are blindly being herded into believing Obama is some great savior,he is the larger of the two evils we have as a choice, personally what we need is a good independent candidate for once, but I'll probably never see it in my lifetime.

Chances are that the thing with Rezko won't really affect Obama at all. So far, there's been no indication whatsoever of wrong-doing by him, just by a few other democratic officials in Illinois (namely the governor I believe).

And yeah, throw out an independent running for president with any common sense at all and I'd vote for him in a heartbeat. I'm a democrat, but I'm more of an independent when you look at the spectrum of issues. And that's fine if you disagree with Obama's politics, Lord knows if we ever find a politician everyone agrees with the world will explode. I just hate misinformation of both candidates, no matter where it was intended or not. I don't think Obama is a savior, and I would hope most people who support him agree that he's not a savior, I just happen to think he's more qualified to handle the issues we're being presented with. I don't think McCain is incompetent, but financially, I never agreed with the Republicans methods of "fixing" the economy. Trickle down just doesn't work like it should, because that theory doesn't incorporate the innate greed that we all have.

McCain has just gotten...scary over the past year-year and a half. I used to listen to his speeches and thought he would be a good moderate choice who would vote on the issue instead of his party line, but the closer it's gotten to the election, it seems to me that he's just fallen back on the typical Republican platforms.

"Concealed Carry-you are correct, I believe I did read that on factcheck.org that he voted for this bill. I disagree with this part of his policy." That makes two of us.

"Limit to buying one gun a month-Wrong, one handgun a month is correct. I'm actually fine with this, as I don't see why anyone would need to buy more than 1 handgun a month (unless you're a collector, in which case, this is terribly unfair to you, I agree)." Why should any law abiding citzen be restricted to one handgun per month? What if you purchased a handgun and after two weeks you decided you wanted a different one? Once again, trampling on the rights of law abiding citizens.

"Gun registration-Again, I have no problem with this. I think guns should be registered. It just promotes more responsible use of firearms." Why does the government need to know where legally purchased firearms are located? What business is it of the government what and how many LEGALLY OBTAINED firearms are in my gun safe? What's next, I have to give them the combination to the safe?

"I'm not saying he's a bastion for second amendment rights, just that he's not going to come to your door and try to take your hunting rifle." Not 100% sure of that see #1 below.

"As far as his faith, I really don't know. All I can do is take his word for it, much the same as I can take your word for your faith." I would take his word for it, if he would just be honest about what his word is! I am not sure what his faith is, and as was stated earlier, he is evidently confused about it as well.

Well, here is what we do know about Obama’s votes on gun issues, these are facts and all part of the public record.

1.) Illinois Senate, SB 1195, 3/13/03 Obama voted to ban many types of rifles and shotguns that are used for hunting and shooting sports. These range from semi-auto shotguns and rifles to AR style rifles.

2.) Independent Voters of Illinois/Independent Precinct Organization general candidate questionnaire, 9/9/96
Politico, 03/31/08. Obama stated that handguns should be banned for everyone but millitary and law enforcement.

3.) Illinois Senate, S.B. 2165, vote 20, 3/25/04 He voted to allow prosecution of those who use a gun for self defense in their own home. I cannot begin to digest the absurdity of that.

4.) Chicago Defender, 12/13/99 Obama supported increasing taxes on firearms and ammunition by 500 percent. Tax the manufacturers out of business.

5.) United States Senate, S. 397, vote 217, 7/29/05 Obama voted to ban almost all rifle ammunition commonly used for hunting and sport shooting. Another favorite tactic of the anti gun crowd, cannot outlaw guns, outlaw the ammo.

6.) Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, 4/2/08, Chicago Tribune, 9/15/04 Obama opposes Right-to-Carry laws, despite the fact that states that have concealed carry have lower crime rates.

Sorry, he is no friend of gun owners. Call me a single issue voter if you want, but anyone who is that afraid of law abiding citizens and their second ammendment rights could just as easily trample on your other constitutional rights.

Might as well not waste your time Tim T,you could have pictures of Obama sleeping with Bin Laden and these sheep would think it was to get rid of that terrible George Bush and for the Benefit of the poor .
They want change so bad that they'll get it,but it won't be as good as they think.
