    Question Taylorsville

What's going on out in Taylorsville? Any body having any luck? I haven't been out there since spring. What's the temp? Anybody had any luck out there? I could use some pointers out there. I think I'll head out there in the morning. Maybe get wet and catch a cold if anything else.

I was out there two Fridays ago, ended up with 4 keepers and 10 short fish. The biggest being close to 3lbs. Caught them on the main and in the creeks.

It's time to start there again. I'm going to try for 10 over 5# there this year, we caught 8 so far, of course haven't been there since june or so. T-ville is my favorite lake from now till april.

The way I like it.... EMPTY!!!! Really once deer season starts, I'm all by my lonesome out there... not a soul in sight. I quit deer hunting to fish during that time. Last year on opening day of gun season, no other trucks/boats were there.

Sounds like my kind of traffic...if money gets tight or if my schedule doesn't allow me to hit the lakes I want to then I may end up giving Taylorsville a try a couple of times this winter.

I'll tell you what. Alot of people give t-ville a hard time here. I never wanted to fish there myself. My old man pretty much had to force me to go there. I whined the whole way there about Rough and this was a waste of time ( I read the comments on here about it) 1st trip we caught 7 keepers , I thought OK it's a fluke. 2nd trip on the 4th cast I believe i caught a 7# and another 3 or 4 keepers. this was 2 years ago. I have lost several big fish and 1 hog that we would guess would have been atleast 9# maybe bigger, it was big. That same day a few cast later I lost another good. I have only had 1 trip where I didn't catch atleast 3 keepers and that trip my dad and nephew both caught 2 each. I have said here before, go against the rules fishing there. By that I mean if the situation calls for a crankbait throw a jig, topwater? I don't take any there or spinnerbaits for that matter. A fat baby crawl but 99% of the time I throw a jig. Fish places that others ignore. My best spots, I have never seen anyone fish, it's that wierd. People who know the lake alot better than me will tell you that you can catch really good fish there, just put the time in and don't give up, now is the best time to fish there. I won't go anywhere else till next summer to fish, I have that much faith in it.

the ponds up in the woods don't count..
it all has to with the pressure, from first week of nov. til freeze or water gets below 38,for me,even rough nolin and barren are different lakes.

    Re: Taylorsville

I believe that presure has a little to do with it there. I usually don't fish there in the summer because I love to fish rough too. I fished T-ville a couple of times this summer and did pretty well. My dad usually fishes with me and he hates alot of traffic so he don't like going there when it's warm. My only problem with rough is I can't find anything bigger than 3lbs there. We catch several of them there but can't seem to find any good ones. we seem to always catch atleast 2 or 3 solid fish at T-ville every trip. The time I mentioned above not catching any keepers was at night and the next morning a friend went to the same spots and caught 9 keepers in 3 hrs, but he caught his on a tube, which I hardly ever throw anywhere, I just can't get bit on one. I'm not ashamed to admit that most people could probably outfish me in most places but I just seem to have a knack for them at T-ville. I have thought about trying a tournament or two but to be honest, I hate tournaments. I love to be able to have fun and not pressure myself. The 5 tourneys I have fished (nolin) I didn't have fun, even finishing in the money a couple of times, I felt rushed and pushed just the opposite of why I fish. thats nothing against people who do fish them, alot of folks on here love that situation/ setup. I actually like watching guys fish them when I'm out and will share info if asked ( which most don't ask).
